Romantic GetawayTook my wife here for our 30th wedding anniversary. It is not a big 5 reserve (none of the big 5), but if you dont mind that it makes for a great romantic bush getaway. The food was excellent, but what really made the stay for us was the staff who were unbelievably attentive and friendly. We were there for 5 days (longer than most guests), but had a blast. We stayed in a tented room (has a thatch roof) for three days, which was lovely. However, it was really hot in the afternoons (in fairness the ambient temperature was over 35 every day we were there). We also spent 2 nights in the Mandela suite, which was lovely as it had a private pool, which we used extensively we also used the public pool all day, for the first 3 days, and were for the most part the only guests there, so was really pleasant. It never got crowded and really peaceful there were a male & female Fly-Cather which arrived ever hour or two for a quick drink and dip in the pool. Cell phone signal is intermittent in the rooms & I had a little difficulty with the wifi (would have to disconnect & reconnect regularly), which is only available round the pool and restaurant/bar area this was not an issue for me (did need to do some work & was able to do what I had to), but something that could frustrate some people.

Bushveld BlissBeautiful peaceful surroundings in the bush with true 5 star accommodation and luxury. Excellent service and gourmet, fine dining food prepared by wonderful chefs. World class hospitality and felt at home. Looking for a peaceful breakaway to relax or celebrate a special occasion, Zwahili is highly recommended

Romantic Anniversary GetawayWe booked the Madiba room but got the Rafiki because our payment didn't go through fast enough. This was a bit disappointing as we understood the Madiba one was a bit more private. We stayed 2 nights. The Rafiki was lovely and if you are looking at spending time in the private pool for endless hours on a very hot day, then this is it! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I requested for a special anniversary dinner and they made a nice plan. Under the covid situation there was no daily cleaning of the room but the room was spotless. We did only one morning of a game drive. It was pleasant and social distancing was practiced. It is not a big game farm so don't expect to see the big 5 but it depends on what your purpose for the stay is. The food was lovely, not much to fault except maybe portions of dinner could be bigger. I feel the parking lot and road from where you take the game drive could be less red soil and more cement or pebbles. The mud on the day we left (mud due to rain) was horrific. There were also a couple of disappointments with the accommodation...They have no air conditioners!! The ceiling fan and floor fan were okay the first night but on the second night the heat was unbearable (heat with humidity right before rain arrived). We did not sleep at all. A dip in the pool meant exposure to the mosquitos. We tried sleeping with wet towels over our bodies but it was no use. We spent a sleepless night, we were more tired than when we went!. The other thing was there are no curtains on 2 windows in the bedroom, meaning no sleeping in and in the bathroom it was only the thin curtain which made me feel very exposed as the room was still visible to people walking past. I feel for the price you pay and its rating, some good curtains and an air conditioner are not far fetched. I would love to go again but I would do it in summer so I can enjoy the private pool offered by the two room types but it would need to be hot and that means no sleeping at night if there are no air conditioners...
