  A wonderful hotel in the heart of Wuppertal

  My husband and I just returned from holiday in Germany over Christmas. This was our fourth trip to Germany, as my husband's family lives in Wuppertal. I always feel at home at the Zur Krone. Richarda, the inn keeper, does a wonderful job. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. The bathrooms are very modern, I especially like the rooms with bathtubs. Breakfast is always wonderful, with a wide selection of sausages and fresh breads. The hotel is very quiet even though it is situated next to the suspension train. It is an easy walk to restaurants, shopping and trains. When in Wuppertal!

  Friendly staff, very basic breakfast, nice interior (outside the rooms)

  We came here during our bike trip from the Netherlands to Switzerland. Many other hotels on TA seemed very massive, so we chose this one. And we were glad with it. The staff was friendly and the lobby looks almost a bit funny with the purple walls. First we thought the location was not too good, but the hotel is situated very close to the famous Wuppertaler Schwebebahn. It brought us in no time (and on a spectacular way) to the centre. The only thing we liked less was the breakfast which was very basic. But for the rest, I would certainly recommend this hotel in comparison to the other massive hotels in Wuppertal.

  Great location, lovely people, simple and well-priced

  A really nice place. Right next to the monorail (Schwebebahn) but the room I was in (in the basement) was extremely quiet. The breakfast is very good - lots of choice. The hotel is low-key, quiet, stylish and friendly. There was a mix-up with the bags on the day I checked out - which wasn't there fault at all, but the owner spent hours trying to rectify it and even drove me to the airport. The opera house is a 5-min walk from the hotel if you're coming to see the Pina Bausch company. There are shops and cafes close to the hotel.

  Could have danced here!

  So we went to Wuppertal to see the Piña Bausch dance company at the OperaHouse. Booked this hotel for one night & really pleased we did. Parking just over the road, nice breakfast and lovely friendly people. And so close to the Opera House (300m) we could have danced all the way back. As others have said, the mono rail is right outside and the station not far away either. Sure there's a sex shop three doors down the street, but I guess that's just another illustration of the practical, liberal attitude to life that makes Wuppertal such fun!

  Not too bad :)

  Hotel is next to Schwebeban rail and Wupper river. There is no hotel parking so You need to leave You car nearby on public street (paid) parking. There is couple of restaurants in walk range. Staff is friendly and breakfast is decent. Internet is free but slow in evenings and in my room signal was weak.
