Wonderful experienceEnjoyed everything about this game lodge. The accommodations and grounds were large and beautiful! The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was alright, always plentiful and different. The bar was fun and inexpensive. We did the rhino tour which was amazing, near the Indian Ocean. Our ranger Bernie was kind, knowledgeable and fun. We met the owner, Mr. Shaw, and he could not have been kinder. The Zulu tour on the grounds was fascinating and very interesting. Great trip. Perfect weather a bonus!

Great time in South Africa!Wonderful experience at Zulu Nyala. Like others, bought this at a charity auction. Didn't experience any negatives. Staff was great. We stayed in the Tented Camp and it was great. Had a super ranger (Mark). Yes, it is a small reserve, but enjoyable. We opted for two extra side trips. One to Umfolozi Game Reserve and the other to the Elephant Experience. Typically, not a big fan of animal "experiences," but these were rescues from the culling of a herd. Both side trips were great experiences. The grounds are beautiful. It was a great experience!

I dreamed of AfricaWe booked 2 rooms to accommodate my family of 6 over Christmas. We where met by Melusi who made sure our stay was excellent from start to finish! The gardens are immaculate and absolutely beautiful. Had a wonderful game drive with Johan. Watched the 3 elephants (the dixie chicks) playing in a waterhole, hippos, crocs, black and white rhino with babies, snakes and even a black mamba! The food was amazing and we returned with wonderful memories. Thank you for our incredible experience.

Best ranger and groupGoing with no expectations due to the win at the auction, just like everyone else, was a great surprise. Front desk wasn't very helpful and can be quite aloof at times, so you spend time talking with others to get a better feel for the property itself. Buffet was fine, but wish they had more S. African dishes to accompany the offerings. Wine, beer, etc is all charged above the cost of the price.. By reading others comments, I was prepared to know they would push other packages. The property itself offered many views of many animals. Our guide, Bernie, was exceptional. The interaction with the elephant is worth the extra fees. We were lucky enough to see a mother lion and her 2 sons at a neighboring preserve. Our last night we went out for the sunset at the top of the mountain and on the way out got to see a chameleon. San Lucia and the beach were another extra day trip. Getting non-buffet food, took laundry to town and paid the very low price of 100R for clean, dry and fold. The boat ride for hippos was fine, however, they were all submerged so you didn't see much. All rooms are large; A/C worked well, can't open windows because the monkeys in the area would enter your room and tear apart your luggage. The staff does a great job with the grounds and cleanliness of everything. The dining staff was friendly and helpful. Rented a car and drove to and from Durban--most stressful drive ever due to people and animals on the side of the road.
