  Nice hotel for business trip

  This is small but nice and well-located hotel, with very serious and welcoming staff. The breakfast was average, but everything else was fine. Very nice? new and clean room and facilities at all. The hotel is recommended for business trips and active vacation when you don't plan to be too mych in a hotel. There is no airconditioning, so may be too hot during the summer.

  Basic b&b

  I stayed at the Hotel Zlatoust for 3 nights (for business). On the plus side the hotel is quite centrally located (about 5 mins walk from the nearest metro station / 10 - 15 mins walk from Nevesky - Winter Palace area). The room and bathroom was clean and well maintained. Breakfast is basic (yogurt, bread etc...). The hotel has fast and free wifi. On the negative side, the room was decorated in quite dark colors therefore it was not ideal for relaxing or working in. There was smoking area in the hall adjacent to the room meaning that second hand smoke got into the room. The room faced the main road which is very busy - although the window sound proofing is excellent, it is not possible to keep the window open for ventilation as the noise is excessive - hence the room was stuffy and warm (may be too warm for summer months - and no air conditioning). The place is more of b&b than a hotel (as it is a converted old apartment) and should be classified correctly. Overall it offers reasonable value for St Petersburg but better places can be found if you plan ahead.

  Basic budget-friendly hotel

  Zlatoust - Location: reasonable, it's 1 subway stop away from the Nevsky stop (but too far away to walk to and located in the other side of the Neva) - Room: very large and spacious (we had #15). Quite clean with old-style furniture, small and old bathroom (no windows or ventilation). Despite being located in a busy street, the room was very quiet due to the double windows. - THERE WAS NO AC, despite the Booking.com description for the business double room. We complained at the reception, but it was the last room available and we were only staying 1 night so we decided to endure the summer heat - NO WIFI IN OUR ROOM. The Wifi signal didn't work in our room. We complained at the reception and they gave us an Internet router... which also didn't work, it froze at the MTS (provider) screen. We complained again and the receptionist called MTS to fix it, and promised the signal would work in 20 minutes, but it never did. We had to go to a common sitting area to access Internet. - The receptionist was very friendly and attentive, but she was basically unable to fix any of the issues above

  Convenient and cozy

  We stayed here and were surprised by how well maintained and clean it was for such a reasonable cost. The rooms (we had 2) were nicely decorated and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. When we were leaving we were allowed to leave our luggage until well after check-out so we could spend some time in the city before moving on to our cruise that was not available until after 3:00 pm. Very friendly and helpful staff and excellent internet.

  Decent choice

  Quite basic hotel but I must admit I expected something worse. The hotel is clean, rooms not run-down, people friendly. What else does one need in city centre of Saint-Petersburg during the world cup.
