  Not recommended!!

  The hotel is an average chinese one. The breakfast is OK..but the staff is not so friendly.. The room service menu is also very limited.. The only good thing about this hotel is the location..just near shanghai railway station metro(line 1,3 & 4)

  pretty good for what it is

  Not sure why this place gets so many bad reviews from international travellers who stayed here. I recently stayed here and with good knowledge of Shanghai hotels I do not think this is as bad as the reviews say it is. The rooms are a good size with a private bathroom that has bathtub and a shower. The rooms have a fridge, a work desk, a sitting area and LCD TV, Wi-fi. Free wifi is available all over the hotel. Breakfast is included which is a mix of Asian and Western spread, from 6am. Hotel has other amenities in it that I didn't get to look at but seems to me more than just a hotel room and a restaurant here. Location is good for tourists or anyone on business. Bang outside Shanghai Railway station which also has 3 metro lines running through it. Zhong Xiang Hotel is good value for money and for me was a hassle free experience.

  The best Hotel at the Shanghai Railway station

  Very good Nearly railway Nearly subway, Exit 4, dont need taxi to People Square (lines 1/3/4) Shuttle bus to airport Not bad breakfast Absolutely clean Staff doesnt speak a good English Die Nörgelei des Vorredners kann nicht nachvollziehen

  Bad surprise

  We stayed there for 3 days, upon arrival the room window was not closing, they came and fixed it. The staff at this place is really rude, front desk and restaurant staff is ok. The room was fine. The day we left, the cleaning lady was standing outside our room door at 9h30 am, she asked when we would checkout, we told her we will go eat at the restaurant and we would check out at 11h30. When we checked out the cleaning lady was standing outside the room again like a hawk. We opened the door and she rushed into the room, the very first thing she aimed for was to look for the pen case they leave in the rooms. She knew exactly what she was looking for. The pen case was there in the morning when we went to eat but vanished by the time we came back and checked out. They charged us 30 rmb for the ugly missing pen case, beware, those people are scammers, I looked at other reviews about this place and it show that they also make stories about damaged towels and make people pay for it.   Nice hotel for best price

  I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel, the place is nice and rooms are good but very noisy maybe because of ongoing construction and railway station. The room I got had a problem in the bathroom but I hope they fixed otherwise it is a nice place with nice breakfast. Like most hotels in China, receptionist needs to learn simple English.
