  Our wedding renewal ceremony and beach party

  We had our wedding renewal on the beach followed by a 5 course meal also on the beach. The setting was beautiful literally a few metres from the sea, canopy with flowers for the ceremony, u shaped table beautifully decorated for our meal. Food was excellent and each course brought out in good time with no rushing, they even postponed final course so we could do speeches. Music speaker was provided which we connected my phone to and ended up dancing the night away on the beach. Special mentions to wedding planner Alison, manager Dimitri and lovely waiting staff Jannis and ?Steph (apologies if I've spelt names wrong). They tailored everything to our requests and really made our celebration incredible special with memories that will last forever. Thank you! We did not stay as we were a large group and chose a villa, so I can not comment on the hotel itself.

  Incredible!

  The only thing more astonishing than the facilities and the proximity to the beach is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff! It truly was an amazing stay while we were there and beyond (beyond as our left behind items were posted to us even after we returned home).

  As long as you have no dietary requirements, this place is amazing!

  It is located ON the sandy beach, where you can walk into the water for a long time before it becomes deeper than your head. It is amazing on days with no wind where you can clearly see the bottom. And even more fun when it's windy where you can play in the waves! Rooms are very nice and super clean. Bed incredibly comfortable. Fridge in the room, as well as big closets. Nice balcony with 2 chairs and table for sitting outside with a coffee (coffee and water heater included in rooms) every morning, and a glass of wine every evening - while looking at the sea. Like all other beach hotels, selfish people put their towels out on all the pool lounge beds to reserve them the whole day. Laying on the ones on the hotel's beach will cost you 10 a day, but there are a few restaurants just next door where you can sit on their lounge beds on the beach for free as long as you order a drink or food (skip Ocean Restaurant though - service super slow, drinks sub-par). Staff at the hotel is top notch! Really friendly and helpful. We had room 107 and it was a bit off to the side which made it quiet but had a bit of a beach view. Super friendly, professional cleaning staff woman! Internet is 30 per week and can be used on up to 4 phones/laptops. Internet itself is slow and cuts off a lot though. Free internet in lobby. Our only negative from our trip was that we were not at all catered to as vegans. We warned them in advance but the head of the restaurant (Georgios), while super friendly, did not seem to give 2 bits about making any effort to get us simple vegan foods. So every morning we ate bread with olive oil, every evening a plate of lettuce, shredded carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes. Sometimes we were lucky and they happened to have on offer at the buffet spaghetti with tomato sauce, potatoes or something else. IF you have any kind of special food requirement DO tell the reception to enforce that you are helped. Oh, and do make the 5km hike on Bulgarian trail (or taxi ride) up to Mochos and eat at Portego Restaurant - you will be SO HAPPY you did! And DO check out the café right across the street from the hotel called Cafe Village Bar - evenings it is an amazing experience. Sophia is even more colorful than their party-like tasty cocktails which actually have sparklers coming out of them!!! Face masks became mandatory on the street 2 days after we arrived. Most wore them. Within the restaurant property, no face masks are required - including the beach and pool area. Do NOT take sparrow travel agency trip to Lassithi. It is too much "forced sales" visits like to a pottery place where they guilt you into buying products and to an awful restaurant where all of us felt like sheep being moved around. Food and service was sub-par, none of our group left a tiny bit satisfied.

  Everything about this stay was simply great

  The service, the hospitality, the room, the food... I don't really have anything negative to say about our stay, it exceeded our expectations. From when we arrived 'til we left there was nothing but positive vibes. The staff are very friendly and humorous, but not too much. The morning and dinner buffet servings varied from day to day, varying in quality but was never below 7/10 and most of the time 9/10, which meant we could always look forward to a lovely dinner by the crashing waves. I would definitely recommend this stay for couples. The location too was perfect, close to bus stops, nice restaurants, seaside obviously and bang on in the middle of Stalis we preferred this area to Malia which is the neighbour town (we found Malia to be too gritty and without charm compared to Stalis). Rent an ATV/car and take a roadtrip Agios Nikolaus, take a bus to Heraklion og take a nice walk to the closest city Hersonissos, it only took us 30 minutes and the walk is nice, definitely.
