Simple and cleanWe stayed here for 2 nights (3 adults + baby), travelling by car from Le Havre. It took a couple of hours but was very easy to get to. Our first problem on arrival was parking - there is underground parking but it needed to reserved (which we didn't know). There is limited free parking outside the hotel, and the train station parking was reasonable (3 a day). Once we parked and found a way in, we were confronted by a French-only speaking administrator who, despite the language barrier, was very helpful. The hotel had set up a spare bed in the living room. In terms of facilities, there was a TV, 2-hob cooker and a coffee machine with spare filters. There was a small gym plus they did breakfast, neither of which we tried. Bedding and towels were provided. All in all, it was clean and tidy with enough plates etc for four. I'd recommend it as a place to stay and visit the surrounding area (especially Saint Germain). However, Paris is a couple of hours away by train

Good for visiting St GermainWe rented 2 appartements for our family of 5. Clean, good beds, affordable lodging, receptionist calling twice to confirm time of meeting for handing out the keys, what can you ask more. Well in fact you can: the blankets were made of this terrible cheap, typical French, industrial wool. These could easily be replaced by German duvet. The neighborhood doesn't call for any visits at night, not dangerous but nothing to see or to do. Very good place to rent when you have family or business in St Germain. For the ones who want to discover Paris, go closer to the city of lights.

Spacious, basic, quiet, great value for money.Stayed 2 nights with our 7yr old granddaughter. In every other way it was exactly what we hoped for. However, it should have been 3 nights stay but we arrived late and the key wasn't in the key box as had been agreed. Had to stay elsewhere the first night (not so bad for us as we have family in Saint G) but the next morning the staff were exceedingly apologetic: only charged us for 1 night, gave us free parking and a bottle of champagne. Excellent resolution. The rooms are very large, very basic, but really clean and good value for money. Would just ask for proper size mugs for tea drinkers please! We'd definitely go back and would recommend it for cheap stays. Other people who arrived late found the key system worked for them so I think we were just unlucky but to be very sure call early evening and make sure they have put your key ready in case you arrive after reception closes.

Simple and basic but needs beds instead of sofa bedsIt's a very simple and basic place, the odd thing is that the bed is a sofa bed and I had to sleep diagonally for my legs to fit. Breakfast was basic. Nothing especial. Shower small but ok. Reasonable price.

Good for an overnighterMy son is taking a series of BAC tests at an international school just down the road. The tests start at 7 a.m., and we live an hour away by car. So, to reduce the stress, we're staying in hotels in this area for a couple of days. Day 2 is at the Serena. It is clean, quiet and basic. The furniture is cheap IKEA, the kitchenette is rickety, only one bed has sheets, and there is only one towel in the bathroom. I expected the shortcomings, and brought sheets, towels, blankets, and pillows. There's a good Chinese restaurant across the street, and behind it is a well-stocked supermarket. An OK place for one night, and it is giving my son a quiet place to cram for his physics and German tests tomorrow.
