  Quiet & relaxing environment, removed yet close to everything

  This place is a bit of an enigma. On the one hand, isolated within a rural setting, yet close the beachfront and to Noto. Set up like a small hotel, yet without many of the conveniences they offer. Trying to emulate a B&B, yet falling short on the second B i particular, and on the overall charm factor. True, it's newly renovated, stylish, clean and comfortable. But the service and attention that you would expect at such a place is lacking, unfortunately. The owner is nice; helpful in some ways, yet uncomfortable with his guests. Perhaps it's the language barrier. Yet compared to other places we've been to, he misses the mark on creating a welcoming environment, and a warm experience for his guests. Perhaps because it was late in the season, and our party of 4 were the only guests for several days, we always felt that were were somehow intruding. As well, the restaurant others mention was not in operation and no sign that is was even there, and the breakfast buffet was very sparse in selection. Also, the common area living room was not really available for our use or enjoyment, and beside outdoor spaces there is nowhere else to gather. These are elements that have to be improved upon to make the guest experience match the level that the facility can achieve, in my view. Many of the components are in place, but others are lacking. I can only imagine that in busier times the operation is running on all cylinders, and not sputtering to a slow stop, which is what we encountered. My suggestion; for guests, make sure everything is operational and of what you can expect. For the operator, inform your guests what services not to expect, especially if what has been advertised/presented cannot be fulfilled.

  Just perfect

  We came as a family with three small children and had an absolutely wonderful time. The place is beautiful, and the pool just amazing, surrounded by olive and almond trees. The staff are really professional, attentive and kind. The breakfast is delicious and the evening meals prepared by Guido and served in candlelight are the perfect ending to a day in Noto or in any of the spectacular beaches nearby. Highly recommended.

  Wonderful retreat

  We did stay for two nights there. Being outside of Noto (10 Minuten drive) it is a wonderful retreat hosting only eight rooms. We as family stayed in a nice cottage decorated in a tasteful way. The salted pool is just Georgeous in a wonderful garden. If you ask a Golfcart is bringing you in 20 minutes to a great beach with sand and clear water. Clearly recommendable

  Fantastic country retreat!

  Such a sweet treat near Noto. A tiny country house hotel with stylish decor and excellent, friendly staff. A stay here is akin to enjoying a good friends country home, pleasant, happy and relaxing. No pretense and no frills but all so relaxing, laid back and totally pleasant. We needed a few days of R+ R and had visited Noto before /so ZAhir looked like a great choice and it was! The home is quite small with just a few rooms, we had an upstairs room with lovely views and although small was very comfortable and chic. The pool area is smaller than i had anticipated but there is space in the garden for chaises and quiet napping. Old olive trees surround and the around of the country is very relaxing. PROS Great staff Quiet and peaceful - Super convenient for Noto restaurants On the doorstep of a nature reserve with sandy beaches and miles of beautiful hikes Great home cooked dinners served around the pool, excellent pastas and local dishes Chic decor Good value CONS Small pool patio, not conducive to relaxing with children present - should be an adult only hotel OR a family hotel Breakfast got a little monotonous despite homemade cake etc ( somewhat limited)

  Much more expected.

  We stayed 3 nights in Zahir. We were quit disapointed. We recommend our fellow tripadvisor friends (especially the spoiled ones) to search for another accomodation.... The worst is 'the software'. The lady behind the reception really does not know how to treat guests. The whatsapp on her phone is much more important than guests. Here welcome: 'Hello, Documents, please'. We had the feeling, that everything we asked was too much.... The property its self is OK, but not more than that Plus Swimming pool The neighbour restautrant, 5 min walking distance... Nice guy at the breakfast Conts All over the property (also in the rooms) are tons of caterpillars. Breakfast is very limited. The products are OK, but much more is possible in Sicily On their webstite is stated that there is a great chef and lunches are available.. but unfortunatelly there is no foodservice (lunch and dinner) at the property. Drinks available after after 6 PM.
