  BASTANTE BUENO

  Estuvimos en los apartamentos Carl & Do en julio. Son apartamentos muy grandes, muy limpios, cocina pequeña pero completa, baño grande... Es un edificio totalmente restaurado y todavía se ven algunos muebles algo antiguos, pero en buen estado TV antigua, de las de tubo de imagen. Muy bien situado, muy cerca del lago Maggiore y de la autostrada. No tiene restaurante ni bar, pero los hay muy cerca, en el pueblo, al que se puede ir dando un paseo y justo enfrente hay un bar donde se puede desayunar. Hay parking de pago, algo caro, pero hay aparcamiento en la calle y nosotros no tuvimos ningún problema para aparcar. No hay piscina en el edificio pero te dan entradas para ir a un parque acuatico que está a cinco minutos. Yo no fui, así que no puedo opinar. Wifi de pago. En resumen, si tuviera que volver al lago Maggiore, volvería a los apartamentos Carl & Do. Están muy bien situados, son grandes y limpios y tienen buen precio.

  great lake view but that about it..

  we were here in august 2019. Had a family appartment for 9 days. We were on the 6th floor and had a great lake view. Appartment was clean and all essentials were there, including the luxury of 2 bathrooms AC was working well. Supermercato and paid each all at walking distance. Including several great restaurants (SottoSopra and Amelie just to name 2). That said, several things were not so great: 0) we thought we had booked a hotel appartement with all amenities of a hotel. Turned out to be just a appartment as it was not possible to have breakfast or dinner or roomservice at all. 1) we arrived after a tornado on monday. personnel was totally stressed out. I was shouted at and felt treated pretty rude. Without paying the full bill upfront, i would not even have gotten the keys. 2) all personnel is really poor in speaking english 3) we had to return 2 day's early with a 72hr upfront announcement. despite staying already for 7 days here there was not a single gesture for our loss. 4) the whole Carl&Do ground floor smelled rotten as the tornado led to a full leakage of the ground floor and the roof. 5) the elevators were broken half the time (no lights, doors tayed open, no travelling) 6) on the website it states free entry to the lake via the park opposite the street, turned out to be closed due to cleaning. 7) on the website it states free entry to the aquaventure park at 800m and walking distance. It is 2km walk along the highway which is dangerious. Access is free only for the central pool. All other activities require additional cash. 8) the hotel is right at a very busy street (SP33) which has dense traffic. You here it very loud, even if you close the windows. 9) the beds were very hard and that lead to suboptimal sleep for a pretty long period. We will not come back here again.

  Convenient location

  Convenient location and with underground parking. It got partial view of the lake. Apartment is of good size. Bedding is comfortable and A/C works well. WiFi has data quota and quite slow. Nice if you are visiting the area.

  Baveno/Stressa and Zermatt

  The Carl Do apartments were 5 star at an affordable price. Apartment spacious and very nice and clean.Staff exceptional. Carl Do can arrange bus excursions etc at main desk. Recommended is bus trip from Baveno to Zermatt to view Matterhorn. Also must see is Isola Bella which is reached by small motor boat (literally 10 minutes to arrive on island)..fabulous tropical gardens make you feel you have arrived in Paradise. Also recommended small ferry from Baveno to Ascona (just inside Switzerland)..you pass stunning small towns on the way and Ascona, altho very up-market is quite beautiful.

  Before starting with the report, just to share that this report is based on our experience with a 2 room apartment of 7th floor, top level with lake view. The location is great, very short walking distance to supermarket, center of village, public park (opposite to the hotel) and lake beach . The apartment is big, sleeping rooms are big, living room and dining are good and the bathroom is huge with two showers in it. Furnitures are in decent shape. Kitchen in clean condition and has all basics, no dishwasher; fridge working well and clean. This residence is not a hotel, therefore, no room service (stood 10 days, received a set of clean bed and towel set after some days, you will have to exchange). Parking was free, because of COVID, we assumed that we could park on public spots, otherwise, the hotel has parking at 9 per night. The only thing to bring up is, that on Booking.com it was not very clear and a bit confusing the topic referring to the swimming pool. On the web you can see a picture of a swimming pool. This pool does not belong to the hotel nor it is located downstairs in the same complex. At reception you will receive a Voucher for a swimming pool at 3 minutes by car and 20+ minutes walking without public transport. All in all, we liked it very much, but had to drive the daughters to the pool and pick them up, which for us wasnt an issue. Price wise, very good compared to the closed by hotels.
