  Tastefully done modern ryokan

  EMI is a beautiful, tastefully done, modern ryokan. It is small, with about 30 rooms over 3 floors. The lobby is modernly decorated with nice leather sofas, an ice cream machine, free flowing sparkling wine, and coffee ( from machine). There is a small, nice back yard as well as a small front yard. One can lounge around these areas after a nice onsen bath, coffee, wine or ice cream in hand. There is nothing much else to do around the hotel ; except a small AEON supermarket 5 mins walk away which sells relatively cheaper fruits. Breakfast is simple but good quality - ask the Chef on hand to freshly cook you the platter of egg, sausage and pork. It was lovely! It's a straight 20 mins drive down town. This place is best accessed by car as it is a quiet area off the city. Parking is just beside the hotel. There are a couple of eateries within walking distance but not sure what they serve. This is a hotel for a real good rest as it is enough to just sit around the lounge and / or yard and just relax.

  Nice Cosy Onsen Hotel

  Nice cosy Onsen Hotel, with nice Ramen restaurant nearby (280m away) and Aeon (350m). Hotel serve free coffee, wine and soft serve ice cream from 3pm to 10pm. Onsen (female and male) switch at 5am, so we get to try the 2 different design Onsen. Room is clean and spacious. No complaints.

  Hakodates Best!

  When visiting Hakodate stay at this property! The service is EXCELLENT! The rooms are very comfortable mixing traditional Japanese and western style. The bathroom is compact but fully functional. We had dinner there and it was fantastic, fresh and tasty. There is an Onsen on the property to enjoy. It also comes with free soft serve ice cream, coffee and sparkling wine from 3pm to 10pm. The staff are outstanding. Highly recommended!

  Very Nice Onsen Hotel

  Small warm and cosy onsen hotel that mixes the old and the new. Large tasteful rooms with slightly small ensuite. Friendly and very efficient staff. Tasty breakfast can be added - a mix of Japanese and western dishes served buffet style. During certain hours guests can enjoy free coffee, sparkling wine and soft ice cream via on tap self service. We even treated ourselves on night to the excellent sushi in the on-site restaurant.

  Excellent ryokan experience

  Stayed for one night. Modern, spacious rooms, very comfortable. We selected the dinner option, it was a very good 5 course meal, we had a hard time finishing it. Appreciated that they accommodated my wifes special requests for dinner (allergies). Breakfast was excellent with a variety of choices. Onsen consisted of indoor and outdoor pools and was very nice. Friendly and helpful staff! Overall excellent stay if you want a mid size quiet ryokan.
