  Good no frills onsen at the shore

  This is a no frills onsen with traditional japanese rooms. It is quiet with good views of the Pacific. The bath area is nice and clean including the female side according to my fiancee. Friendly to western people though they seemed a little shocked to see me but that is not uncommon. Recommend also walking on the beach boardwalk across the street.

  In-Room Onsen, Sunrise Over the Ocean, Good For Tattoos

  A traditional-style older hotel, our 3-person room was a little cramped. But the in-room onsen was a big plus, we could enjoy the sunrise over the ocean from our bath. The Top-Floor Outdoor Baths were clean & modern with a great view. The other "Garden" Mineral Hot Springs was a hinoki bath with a relaxing area. It says "pool" but this is not an indoor swimming pool, it is a kids' wading pool. The food was very good giving choices of entree, then a huge buffet for side dishes, and a great creme brulee for dessert! We enjoyed our morning onsen and my husband could enjoy fishing in the ocean. The posted prices are higher than I remembered so shop around for a good deal.
