One of the best Yukai Resort properties I have stayed atChose this Yukai resort because of their tuna (maguro) and yellow tail (buri) tabehodai menus in November. The shuttle service from NAGOYA drops off at this property before lunch (around midday) and we were able to check in immediately. This property looks great in all the public areas and the room was very clean and bright. There are 2 tennis courts,a seasonal swimming pool, park golf and other activities available to guests as well as a very large and clean bathing area (onsen) with 1 lovely outdoor rock pool and a large indoor pool plus jacuzzi bath, individual bed baths and a sauna. The restaurant offers 3 sittings to suit guests and the choice of food was extensive besides the tuna and yellowtail we wanted. The staff at this property were extremely professional and helpful and even though there seemed to be limited English language ability there were ENGLISH signs throughout the hotel (in the bath and restaurant) explaining procedures and all of the food on offer. The bedrooms have only toilets and sinks ensuite which might not be the best option for some and the hotel is a little way out of Awara Onsen itself. There are 2 convenience stores about a 5 - 10 minute walk away. All in all this is one of the nicest and best Yukai Resorts I have been to in Japan so far...I highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Nice onsen for the priceGreat location for an onsen hotel. It's situated on a hill, so most room will get a good view. We stayed in a western/Japanese style room with a superb view of Hakusan and the surrounding area. The room is very clean and spacious. We also love the Onsen and bathing area. It's very clean. You won't feel crowded if it's at the busiest time of the night, provided that the hotel was full on the night we were there. So, this is a very relaxing and wonderful experience. The food however is not as impressive. But it still of good quality. Selection is good for a buffet style dinner and breakfast. We went there for their All you can eat Tuna and Buri. They did actually opened a Buri at the restaurant as a show. We could found quite a few young families staying at the hotel. I guess this is more of a family Onsen hotel. However, because the hotel is so spacious, you will still feel very seclusive while you're staying here. Overall it's a great experience for the price we paid.

Good value but not really "traditional"It is a quick Onsen experience for budget traveler but they cut some of traditional Onsen services. You are welcomed at the reception but you need to bring your luggage to your room even if you upgrade the room. Food is served in buffet style, the food was great but not in a good-olde ambience. Having a Manga room is a very innovative service but they are all in Japanese. The spa doesn't have smell of sulfer and honestly speaking the spa itself doen't have much difference with a bath in my house. My nephew really enjoyed this Onsen because they have tennis courts and ping-pong tables. We'll come back for my nephew but not for me.
