    Amazing Stay

This is a very traditional Japanese Inn, where you sleep on futons in a tatami room. Meals here are served in courses. This place really deserves all the praise for it winning me over in food, lodge and hospitality. The bad: The only bad thing is that as this is a traditional inn, there is no elevator, which means my dad with mobility issues had to take the stairs. But the staff was there all the way with him to ensure his safety. The good: Upon arriving, we are ushered into a waiting room where we are served these amazing sweet potato cakes and tea. The staff then asked if our group had any food allergies so that they may make customized changes for the individual (we had 1 non-seafood guest). The food for both breakfast and dinner were so extravagant and the staff even gave us a detailed description of what was used (mainly locally grown produce) and how to enjoy the food (*the English explanation is a bit more limited but our service staff did her best). The onsen was really great what with a small outdoor area that you can cool yourself off if you think the indoor is too crowded or hot. There is 4 different onsens and you get to try all 4 (if you have the time) as they will switch around both male and female located on lvl 1 and at the basement. My biggest praise though was that we left a bag of goods that we bought from their gift shop when we left. And by the time we realized it, we were back in our country. We corresponded with the hotel to have them send it to us and that we would foot the freight charges. But they not only sent it back really quickly, but paid for the shipping! Forever grateful for their service and the experience staying there. We will definitely be back.

    A-maze-ing!

This is our first onsen trip, and this place does not disappoint at all! We chose a room with private onsen with dinner and breakfast provided. From the moment we check-in, the service was impeccable. Everything was perfect. The dinner was an oh-my-goodness-13-course meal. Every item was detailed to perfection. Don't be fooled by the small size of each course; we were full by the 10th dish. The person who served us also tried her best to explain the details of each dish. The room was clean and quiet, and the private onsen (a huge bowl) was quite cool. Yes it's a little pricey for one night, but I think it's a good experience. (Note: The town itself, was overly, overly touristy.)

A hidden Ryokan in the city of Yufuin

I chose this Ryokan because it had a private outdoor onsen bath outside the patio, very friendly service with dinner and breakfast served at your room. I was so surprised that the food were very hot and nice presented even we had it in our room. Walking distance to most of the attractions in Yufuin.A small Ryokan has less than 20rooms

    Wonderful experience

Super convenient location: this onsen ryokan (hot spring hotel) is located in a quite corner right next to the popular shopping street, the beautiful Kinrin Lake, and the famous hot pot rice restaurant "Yufumabushishin". Excellent service: Offer free transportation between Yufuin JR/bus station. Staff is super polite and helpful. The young lady serving us speaks fluent English. Dinner and breakfast are included and are served inside your room. Food is decent and tasty. Nice amenities: Room is spacious (one living room and one bedroom/dining room). Bathroom and toilet included in the room. Together with its adjacent sister ryokan, there are 4 onsens available for the hotel guests. No view at onsens but still very quiet and comfortable.

Started my year in a bright note

Spent two nights here. Service was impeccable, all meals were amazing. Japanese hospitality at its very best. I was travelling solo and booked to have my own tub and to have dinner in my room. All beautifully and tastefully done. Amazing way to start my 2020. Thank you!
