Tourist hotel with beautiful viewsThe onsen of this hotel is the highlight. It has beautiful view of the mountain from the outdoor onsen. Rooms are in need of a renovation. Service at the hotel tend to be a little "cold". Maybe it is because they do not speak English well. Food served was not gourmet but it was very fecent.

Tourist hotel with Janpese flavorTatami mats, futons, etc. Vending machines (how Japanese) in the halls with soft drinks, coffee and beer. Modern onsen offer the weary traveler a good soak. Restaurant for dinner and breakfast is on site, but nothing remarkable.

A pleasant experienceThis hotel provided a great onsen with a lovely view, good food and comfortable rooms, although the view from our room was largely of a concrete pillar. It was raining quite heavily when we departed in the morning and the staff helpfully moved our motorbikes under the front roof to allow us to prepare our gear for the rain. A pleasant experience.

Experience real Japanese lifestyle and enjoy the Onsen with great viewsThis hotel is located in the higher area of Yufuin. They have their own hotel bus service at the Yufuin Station if you are arriving by train. They will also bring you back to the station upon check-out. You just need to check the pick-up time to and from the hotel. You can also ask the tourist information in the station for assistance. While waiting for the bus in the station, you can eat or go around the stores near the station. Hotel is not new but service is good. They don't speak fluent English so use an app that will translate it for you. Show the translation to them and communication is much easier. Use ITranslate app. The bedroom we got has a view of Yufuin town although there is a concrete portion in front of our balcony. Inside the room, you will feel the real Japanese lifestyle. The tea table is all set up for our use. We also have 2 sets of Japanese robe/pajamas. I noticed that you use one to go to the onsen and the other you wear when you get back. This is just my observation on how the Japanese locals dress up for onsen. They set up the tatami mats when we got back for dinner to sleep. Be ready to sleep on the floor. It comes with a good comforter which I put under me when I want to feel some comfort for my back. In the bedroom, there is only a powder/toilet room. No bathroom. You will really have to use the onsen as that is what the area is known for. Inside the onsen, they have several lockers to store your belongings. The onsen is big and has a lovely view. The hot spring relieves your tired muscles from all the travelling. The breakfast and dinner food is okay nothing fancy. You eat dinner the Japanese way - sitting on the floor. They also have vendo machines near the onsen should you need to buy some food or drinks. To get to other places, you need for them to call a taxi. The reception people will assist you and they will give you a paper that you will show to the taxi driver when you want to get back to your hotel. Had a good experience with the hotel. Good service. It would be better if they can start updating the rooms and other facilities and still retain the Japanese ambiance. I think for the price I paid, i expected a bit more.

Nice food and onsenBeen there with family for 3 days. The dinner was served on catering floor instead of in-room. Food were nice and with great variety. Yet quite many dishes were pre-arranged thus it was a bit cold. It would be better if they were hot. The view from breakfast canteen was great.
