Average stay in a business style onsen hotelWe chose a "room plus two meals" package and stayed in a Japanese style room with a private onsen. On the up side, the private onsen on the balcony has a good view of Mt Yufu and still retains a high degree of privacy. It is a big hotel with a nice garden and a stage for Noh performances. Most importantly, it is only a 5 minute walk from the train station and is a good base to drop off the bags to explore the nice little town of Yufuin. Free wifi is available for guests. However, the meals (both the dinner and the breakfast) failed to impress me. The food was not bad at all, but was not outstanding either. The waitresses were obviously too busy serving too many tables that our tea was not refilled for a long time. While other onsen hotels strive hard to create a "home-like" feeling, this hotel feels more business-like. It may appeal to a certain group of clientele, but I personally would prefer the small, cosy type of onsen hotels.

Nice onsen but...Hotel is within 5 minutes walk from train station. Walking to the town is near too. The building seems lack of maintenance though my room onsen is good as the water temperature can control by adding cold water. As our room is on the second floor the scenery is not as great as if it's on the ground floor. Meals are average compared to other ryokans we stayed in this area at similar prices. The room is big but the wardrobe is in the balcony so we have to get our clothes in the cold. Toilet facilities are good but toilet is away from the bathroom so washing hands after use is walking across to the other side. Though the toilet bowl has a tap for washing and save water by recycling there is no hand shampoo for it. Overall it a good onsen hotel with good location if only the management pays attention to upkeep.

Good viewI stayed here for one night only. The room view is fantastic that you could see the beautiful mountain. The room is big. The dinner is good. The dinning room is quiet. The breakfast may not fit those do not like fish. In summary, an enjoyable stay in this hotel.

Relax and ComfortableThis was the first time to visit Yufuin with my family and we decided to book a hotel with in-room hot spring for a night. We loved the traditional Japanese bedroom. The room size is big enough and the hot spring is just outside the bedroom. Room package included breakfast and dinner. The food quality is good and the restaurant staff were very friendly and professional. Just 6 minutes walk to Yufuin Station and the main road with plenty of shops and restaurants. We had a minor issue that there were some black particles (no idea what they are) from the tap water of the bathtub in the washroom. Therefore, we didnt use it. We hope it would be an isolated issue.
