Five star ryokan in the middle of YufuinI was on a honeymoon trip and decided to book this place for one night in Yufuin. The price is quite expensive so I admitted my expectation is quite high. As we arrived we were greeted politely from the staff from the first step. The staff can barely speak English but they were trying their best to explain everything to you. They have 2 outdoor onsens and when you're using the onsen you can just flip the sign to "occupied". They also have indoor baht as well. Dinner was served in the room with 12-course kaiseki dinner which last for almost 2 hours!! This is very impressive and delicious. Futons were comfortable. Location is in the middle of Yufuin so it's very convenient. Highly recommend!

Unbeatable location + authentic Japanese hospitalityWe stayed for one night at this homey ryokan in the heart of Yufuin. Its location was less than a block away from the main street where all the little shops and restaurants are located. We were warmly welcomed, and the staff made an effort to let us know nearby attractions and points of interest despite of their limited English. They recommended for us to take a stroll outside to explore before dinner, while our luggage was immediately wiped clean and taken to our room for us. The tatami rooms are comfortably sized with a small separate sitting / storage area. The ladies come to layout the bed at night, and put them away in the morning. There are 4 private baths facilities (2 outdoors and 2 indoors). Though there is a toilet and sink in the room, washing facilities are solely in the private baths. Meals are served at fix times in the dining hall. The rooms are kept clean, with nice natural light during the day, and the ryokan provided a full set of amenities to enjoy the hotspring baths. The food and service were fantastic. Great uses of locally grown food, and very well prepared. We had upgrade our package for a beef shabu shabu prior to arrival, and everything was delicious. The staff were attentive and tried their best to explain each dish to us. The only potential drawback is that there are a lot of stairs in this beautifully preserved traditional ryokan. A quick note for those who may want better accessibility.

Highly recommended hot spring resortMy wife and I stayed here for one night which is definitely a memorable and unforgettable one. When we were planning visit to Yufuin, it was just one month before, at which time many of the hotels in Yufuin were already fully booked for a Saturday night stay (we also did book for one night only where earlier we intended to book 2 but they don't have vacancy. We are so happy after our stay that we somehow decided to choose this place, there was nothing at all to complain, everything is just so good, the facilities, the staff and the relaxing ambiance. The hotel is located just beside the main shopping road which you will find so convenient to walk around and along the street where you will find numerous things interesting in the shops. And it is just 10 mins walks through the shopping street for you to reach the Lake. It will be 10-15 mins walk from Yufuin station to the hotel. It it worth mentioning that the best thing here is the 4 hot springs (2 in-room, 2 outside) can be used anytime during your stay and it is exclusively for you and your family to enjoy them, when you occupied anyone of the hot springs, you can lock the place and enjoy. The hotel staff were so helpful and nice that they helped us delivering our baggage to our next hotel in Yufuin, and if you are heading to Yufuin station, they will also be glad to help with your baggage. The dinner is also great, actually we were so full after the whole meal in which they have offered all kinds of delicious food, including the famous Bungo beef. I would very much recommend this place for your stay in the most famous hot spring town in Japan and you will certainly not regret it.

Small and cozy. Convenient location.Very good location as it is very close to the shopping street, but not noisy. Staff are friendly and dinner and breakfast were tasty. 2 outdoor and 2 indoor onsen are all for families hence they offer private and relaxing atmosphere, thus very suitable for couples. Not much waiting was needed for the onsen as it was a small ryokan with only 8 rooms. The only downside was somehow 2 mosquitoes were found in the room, even though it was winter and windows were not opened, and it was a bit annoying.

Excellent ExperienceWe were a group of 6 people and booked Yufu Ryouchiku for 1 night to enjoy hot spring in Yufuin. It was an excellent stay! Service and food were very great! First, when we arrived, since it was not the check in time yet, we dropped off our baggage and kept wandering around in Yufuin. At around 5pm, we went back to get our rooms. The room is very spacious even for three people stay. The staff who assisted us to check in called Trung (). He is very friendly and helpful! He showed us around the Ryokan patiently and prepared dinner for us! Dinner were very great! We chose the set with Beef Sukiyaki and had it in a private dinning room. It was very nice! There were many dishes and Trung explained to us patiently. We enjoyed our meal very much! If you plan to stay in Yufuin and like to enjoy hot spring, highly recommend you to stay in Yufu Ryouchiku! Although they do not have private bathroom in each room, you can enjoy hot spring and take a bath in one of four hot springs! They provide shower facilities too. You can lock the door when you take a bath and it becomes your private bathroom! Once again, thanks Trung and everyone in Yufu Rychiku. We really enjoyed our stay!
