ComfortableIf youre used to sleeping on a futon on a tatami then youll be comfortable. The rooms are minuscule, our futons actually didnt fit next to each other side by side. The suitcase had to go in front of the door which felt like a bit of a fire hazard. The bathroom is clean but mens and womens are on alternate floors which can be inconvenient. Saw signs for a roof top garden but couldnt find it. WiFi works well.

Lovely Accommodations! This little place is really convenient and the people are friendly. We stayed here for one night during our honeymoon. The amenaties like the kitchen, shower, and the washer/dryer were pleasant additions to this stay. We had a great time, would highly recommend!

Everything is beautiful just in the pictures...The main advantages of this hostel is the low price (3100 per night) and proximity to the station, Ishikawacho. The rest are disadvantages. And it's not that you have to sleep on futons. Not terrible. And not in a small area of the room. The main thing is the atmosphere! Photos can not convey the disgusting smell of musty wood mixed with tobacco smoke that accompanies you when you fall asleep. I realized that not only tourists live here, but also people living for a long time. Unfortunately, we spent two whole nights here, the worst of fifteen nights in Japan.

Great budget place! We stayed here for 4 nights whilst the rugby was on. Small room with traditional Japanese bedding with a fridge and TV in the room. Hot showers and a kitchen area with hot and cold water machine. Great place to come if your on a budget and only staying a few nights! Very clean and staff and super helpful :)

The Ultimate Sleeping MachineI had the tatami room, excellent for one person. Everything I needed was there, a small fridge in the room, wifi, a really good shower, washing machine and dryer, and kitchen. This is a hostel and your expectations should be adjusted accordingly, Small TV in room, I never turned it on. My room was on the 5th floor (4th floor in Europe) - no lift, so travel light. Bring your own towel (To paraphrase Douglas Adams, A towel is about the most massively useful thing an international traveler can have) Bring earplugs - hostel located next to a motorway. Rooftop garden - dining area on a pleasant day, can also dry clothes Plenty of food stores - Lawson and similar convenience stores nearby, My Basket close to Ishikawacho station, Aoba across from the station entrance, Union on Motomachi, and Maruetsu Petit on Yamashitacho. Plus lots of vending machines everywhere which dispense cold and hot drinks. Lots of train options. Nearby Ishikawacho with JR trains to Yokohama, Ofuna (change for Kamakura Buddah, Enoshima, Odawara, points west). Minatomirai line at the bottom of Motomachi, and the Yokohama subway right across from the Washington Isezakicho hotel (connects to lots of different lines) Men's bathroom was on a different floor. The area is a bit seedy and needy, but clean and harmless. Saw one or two strange people, but never heard any shouting etc. Lots of senior citizens.
