  Fantastic experience and the hostel

  It has been a pleasure to visit the hostel for three nights in New Delhi... Perfect service and nice staff I can recommend all backpackers from in europe to visit this fantastic House Hotel Thank You, from Oskar and Amalie from Copenhagen

  Only thing decent was a clean room , communal toilet and shower disgusting , the people who had been using toilet were obviously not toilet trained , toilet pan left unflushed , discarded toilet paper thrown on floor instead of in pan , most disappointing i was i was refused use of pool as i had been travelling a lot in very hot weather i had specifically booked this hostel as it had a pool , first excuse was it was being cleaned , clearly a lie as i had seen it being cleaned earlier , second excuse was government inspectors were coming to look at it , i saw no one the whole day , i reported seeing people swimming in it and were told they were life guards so that was ok . the man in grey overalls in charge of the pool was a particularly nasty man , the whole thing was a joke to see a nice pool waiting to be used and told i could not by surly uninterested staff was a disgrace , DO NOT BOOK THIS HOSTEL AVOID AT ALL COST , you can get a much nicer place for half the price in the main bazar near railway station i have done before and did .

  The rooms are very ordinary but clean. The ac rattles a little but cools. The food and service are excellent so at the price range it is difficult to argue against it. There is a bookshop but it seems only Bible literature. There is a swimming pool and gym that you can access but at this time of the year likely to be crowded. Can't argue with the location opposite Jantar Mantar and walking distance from Connaught place.

  I and my wife visited there in Feb/March 2019.

  Rooms, floor, toilet, cleanliness, fittings appalling. All the repair works are just shoddy. There seems no supervision. Quality unheard of. Food utensils used for room service needs good scrub. Fee went upto AUD 80 but quality far from that fee. Restaurant clean, b'fast basic and clean. Quality of food served to room average. Main issue is cleanliness, orderliness and slip shot manner in which things are done. Reception area well kept and staff courteous. Guests are decent and a friendly staff and homely environment. Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent location to move about. Except cleanliness and clumsiness (wires hanging all over in the bath room and bed room, fittings are stalled as they please, fan blades never cleaned, window sills are dirty and never cleaned) and these can be better maintained without any extra cost. But yet it is a home away from home and feel safe especially for single ladies. No touting around. Still I will recommend YMCA if they upgrade the rooms. Also it depends on the customers.

  Stayed at New Delhi YMCA for 2 days . The rooms are bit cramped and old style . The floor, toilet, cleanliness, are not upto the mark .Good food but lacks variety ., The check in and check out takes some time . Cannought Place is walkable distance from the hostel and so is the metro station .
