Quite a way out of Strasbourg

I booked this hotel as I could not find anything inStrasbourg for a decent price. Most hotels available in the City were charging £200+ so I decided to stay in this hotel. When I finally found it I was happy because there was ample parking and free. We were given a room which was OK but certainly not a 3* room. The hotel is a 2* in one of not the best areas around Strasbourg and it has a restaurant as well. I was pleased I could watch BBC World in my room.

Good overnight stay for Zenith concert

Stayed in Strasbourg overnight for a concert at Zenith. Arrived via the airport and suggest taking the train to the city then the tram towards Zenith and then 15 minute walk to hotel. On the way back to the airport we took a taxi and despite being only 7km to the airport the taxi cost over 30 euros so I would suggest organising your time well and taking public transport to the airport. Easy walking distance to Zenith (10 minutes) and near some fast food outlets for a quick pre-show meal. The staff were pleasant and spoke good English. The room was tidy and clean but decor was dated. The price was reasonable considering this was a sold out show and other hotels were sold out. There seemed to be plenty of parking at the hotel.

    APATHY-get a grip

Just returned from a 3 night stay at above with a group of 24 others.Brochure and website both read well but many of us confused. To state it is a 3* beggars belief-in our humble opinion it is just about a 2* and that is being generous. My wife and I were allocated room 02-and was time warped.needs a make-over now. Were all tired after 3 train journeys from Sussex-1st leg was by Eurostar-then our 1st experience bt TGV-new one which wqas double decker and at times was doing 320 kms per hour-WOW.Very impressive. Then a short coach trip to be dropped off at the above Hotel. As were out on tour the next day asked on 2nd evening for an additional pillow as failed to understand how 3 could be shared between 2 of us?? Was asked to come back in 30 minutes which threw me slightly. When I went back the receptionist went away and came back with 2 HAND TOWELS!!!!!- she calmly said no more pillows-to which I said "how pathetic" The 3 pillows in our room were a)well passed their sell by date b)had precious little filling in any of them and c0too small for the pillowcases. I ended up each day suffering from a stiff neck-despite the additional towels-never in my life have I been so badly treated and insulted. Breakfast was listed as from 0600-1000;as we were all on daily tours went down at around 0700.it was typical continental basis.Poor watered down "fruit juices" which not necessary nowadays. Fruit bowl was never replenished from early rush-giving them benefit of doubt and on last morning their was 1 lonely apple visible-and that had been around somewhere for days as soft outer skin. The mattress was unforgiving and not good quality. In effect-the place needs a good update and manager to open his/her eyes. The booklet at reception listed over 100 other Hotels around France so something does not wring true. Best thing would be for it to be knocked down and put a modern one up in its place. Can only assume rating is due to outdoor swimming pool/tennis court etc.Fat lot of good in snowy cold weather. Noticed on wall at reception cost of our room was Euros 104 per night-not worth HALF.

    Only stay if absolutely necessary.

I stayed in this hotel a while ago and it left a veritable Grand Canyon of room for improvement. We arrived late at night as part of a coach party, 50 exhausted Brits travelling all the way from the Midlands. Upon arrival we were all thirsty and hungry, however much to our disappointment the restaurant and bar were not open. The rooms were rather cramped with a very thin small blanket and pillows with next to no filling. The following morning, we all trooped down to the breakfast room, and were presented with a Large bowl of cornflakes and a rock hard baguette! Ordinarily this may seem a decent breakfast, but it was that, to feed 50 people with! Some of our party had to go without breakfast. I would never stay there again. It was understaffed, and unable to provide the adequate facilities for a PRE- booked coach party. As stated in the title, only stay if absolutely necessary.

    Avoid this place if possible!!!

It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Our room was very small and even did not have a cupboard to unpack our clothes. Mattress was way too soft, which made our sleep disturbed. We were given three pillows for two persons and very poor cover (no duvet, just blanket and thin seet). Our room (220) was definitely outdated, with one socket only. And wi-fi was the slowest I have ever used. Breakfast was just pathetic, the quantity of food was miserable!
