Good hotel in a serene environment

We had a department retreat in this hotel. The facilities were good, so were the views. The open lawns were limited, but great to spend time. The food was average, and being kosher, did not have any diary. Rooms were good and comfortable.

    Great place for a group

We had 12 rooms for a weekend. After many hiccups with the variety of offices that are meant to take care of groups we arrived earlier than 3pm and they gave us all our rooms early and we went down to the spa. The pool is good as is the steam room and the jacuzzi. Most of us were in the new wing which is the number 800s rooms. The rooms are nice except for all of the bathroom doors on our floor which are swollen and warped by water. They treated us to free wine and chocolates in all our rooms and we had a separate dining hall which was very welcoming. The food was tasty and plentiful. We opted for a private meeting room which is a great advantage especially for the rainy weekend that we had. View is spectacular as is the fresh mountain air.

The hotel was lovely but the breakfast let a lot to be desired

The hotel was very nice. The room we were in was a bit smallish but clean and cozy. The pool was amazing and the spa was great especially being winter. The only thing that spoilt our stay a bit was the breakfast. The food, even hot food, wasn't kept warm. There were no serving utensils and put out in an illogical order.

Fine as a stop-over but nothing more, unfriendly/rude staff

LOCATION: On a hilltop close to the main road between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, to be reached only by car. PREMISES: This is a big complex with different buildings that are interlinked in a complicated way, through hallways with little or no indications. There is a sports centre with a pool, also used by other people apart from hotel guests. Don't expect any charm here, this is no place for a romantic getaway. SERVICE: Apart from having poor knowledge of English, staff here is hopelessly inefficient and some were straightway rude. It feels like they are all civil servants and are getting paid anyhow, so there is no need to be friendly - clients are just a nuisance. Asking the girl at the reception of the pool where the lockers were, I got the irritated answer "somewhere over there", before she resumed playing with her phone. Well, sorry to bother you. The pool actually had no functioning lockers, and closed at 7 PM (but people were being brushed out already as from 6:45 PM). Also, at check-in the room was available two hours after it should have been. BREAKFAST: Weird experience, being virtually alone in a huge restaurant, with lots of food that was out of place for a breakfast. Was this left over from the previous day? ROOM: very spacious, clean and efficient, no street noise because you're on a hilltop after all; the bathroom was spacious and with everything in good working order. WiFi: reliable and fast OVERALL: fine as a stop-over but nothing more

Good for youth and that's it

My tour Israel group somehow was booked at this tired and worn hotel. As soon as I came into the lobby I called the person who booked this place and said please move us from here as soon as possible. We just spent the night at a 4 star hotel on the Dead Sea. And then we came to the Yearim. Maybe a 2 star at best. The staff tried their best to help accommodate us. Some of the beds were improperly made. There was a place to sell drinks. It was closed up tight. Unfortunately, we stayed there for two nights and then were able to leave for a 4 star hotel in Jerusalem. The hotel is good for youth conferences and young people. Not an older tour group.
