Many good things but ...Great rooms, good service & good location but food is disappointing. Very main stream steak and chips which I expect suits many. For somewhere so close to the coast seafood was very limited. I tried the lobster and it was uninspiring. The salad came with a bland dressing already added, no choice and tasted like it was from a supermarket bottle. There used to be a fine dining restaurant here but no more. Could be so much better.

Do not stay hereMy wife and I stayed for 3 nights at the Townhouse at the end of August. At £150 a night we expected a 5 star experience, but were totally underwhelmed. Apart from problems with the room, which was tired (at the best), you should not expect a breakfast apart from a disgusting brown bag. We knew that there would be room service for the breakfast but totally unprepared for what this entailed. Don't expect bacon, eggs, sausage, beans, tomato, black pudding, preceded by fruit and accompanied by toast, coffee or tea....instead you can have a dry bacon bap served in a brown paper bag. Now if the price had been reduced and/or the government VAT saving passed on then it would mitigate your disappointment. The owner was totally dismissive. The staff rude and ignorant. In fact everything you would expect from a 5 star experience did not exist. Do not stay here. And its not just the breakfast. The owner was unable to fix a buzzing noise in our room, there were no shaving facilities, loose electrics, tired decor...and I could go on. This goes on our list of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in

Deposit not returnedI was booked to stay in the hotel for a weekend stay. Unfortunately, my wife and I were required to self isolate at short notice on the Friday. I called the hotel to explain that we would be unable to travel and therefore would need to cancel the booking. The hotel informed me that it would not be able to provide a refund of my £66 deposit (25%). This is perfectly within the hotels rights but disappointing given the circumstances. I offered to let the hotel keep the deposit and that we could book another date - we have tickets for zipworld and therefore would definitely be visiting the area at some point in the near term. As we are in a world where this sort of thing can happen to anyone, please be aware that this is the hotels policy.

Perfect!!This is one of our favourite places and this visit only confirmed that even more. The staff are all so lovely and attentive, the rooms are beautiful, comfortable and clean and the food, well its amazing! We did dinner bed and breakfast and both our evening meal and breakfast were outstanding! Thank you so much for a much needed getaway and we will definitely back! Highly recommended!
