Large hotel in the forestThis hotel is in the large forest. I fekt the facility getting old but each room is very karge and clean. A lot of families use this. Sometimes sport club members use this as a training place. Everybody can run in the forest. Especially wearly morning runnning make you refresh. There are hot spring near this facility.

Rather tiredWe stayed at this resort for the Rugby World Cup. Everywhere in reception was Japan welcomes visitors for the World Cup - this hotel liked taking the money but certainly did not go out of its way to welcome us. They admitted they were been asked repeatedly about showing the games but gave out a high and mighty attitude that they would talk to the manager - nothing happened. The hotel is rather tired, quite like a 1970's holiday camp. A beautiful position in lovely srroundings but very 'cold' staff. The hotel is well outside Kekagawa, so you either need to use the hotel bus or taxi The rooms need updating but were clean and tidy, the food was average to good.

Visited for rugby World CupDecided to stay here as its near the Evopa Stadium for the rugby. As you enter the hotel there is a whole desk welcoming rugby fans and other advertising around the hotel but there is nowhere on the hotel grounds to actually watch any of the games. As such we are having to go into Kakegawa to try and find somewhere we can watch the games and so will miss dinner in the hotel but they will not refund these costs . Went and played the pitch and putt yesterday £20 each and we got eaten alive in the process...this has been the most disappointing hotel so far on our trip !!

Stuck in a time warpI am not sure where to start with this review as I'm still astounded at how they got it so wrong!!! Firstly, it was the most expensive (by a country mile) hotel in our Japan trip that we undertook for the Rugby World Cup. At over Y45ka night (around GBP400). We wouldn't have minded so much if we hadn't felt like we were stuck in a 1950's resort a bit like the Kellerman's resort in Dirty Dancing. For a start, the rooms had the most awful pink duvet covers that were made of polystrene, the carpet had tons of old stains, the bathroom had the old beige suite look, there was an analogue radio, we had to ask for USB adapters to charge our phones, the couches in the room were covered with an old brown throw set...etc. The good was that the room was big (4 double beds!!) and the shower was great. Whilst it was the most expensive hotel, it was also the hotel with the latest check in - 4pm check in, 10am check out. 4pm really is late and i think grossly unfair. 2.30pm is around standard. Secondly, as other reviews said, this hotel was near the Ecopa stadium in Shizuoka, and we stayed there as we were watching the Springboks take on Italy on the Friday night (match at 6.45pm). We must have been one couple of MANY doing the same thing, and there were literally hundreds of people staying at the hotel who were going to the match. The hotel lobby welcomed all Rugby fans enthusastically. However, their enthusiastic welcome wasn't quite enough as it could have been - they had a shuttle bus running from the hotel to the station - on the hour from the station and half hour from the hotel. From around 3.30/4pm there were tons of people trying to get on the shuttle bus back to the station to then catch another bus or train to the stadium. At this point the hotel could have offered rugby fans a trip straight to the stadium, it wouldn't have hurt. Also they could have put on a few more buses (and even charged, people would pay to not have been so inconvenienced by waiting for hours). Secondly, their bus running back stopped at 9. On the basis the match finished at 8.30pm, and most people would have been in a bundle of 50,000 leaving Shizuoka, the liklihood of anyone being able to make it to the station for 9pm would have been rare. So really they should have offered to keep the bus running till 10/11pm (even for a charge) as it would have taken people 2/3 hours to get back to the resort (as it's very rural). However, what they did do was leave the restaurant open an extra 2 hours (till 10pm) to allow the rugby fans to have supper when they got back. The restaurant would have been totally empty as if anyone made it back by 10pm it would have been a miracle. So they just didn't quite get it right, plus it was like being in an overpriced 1950's bad dream. Breakfast was good though.

Great PlaceGood family oriented resort. We had a really nice stay here this past December. We visited Kakegawa for the bird park (Kakegawa Kachoen) and then stayed one night at this resort. The hotel is big and our room was large. Some of it feels a bit worn out however it is clean. The room was big and OK. The dinner and breakfast buffet were both fantastic. Nice dining area, great food and wonderful staff. The kids are comfortable here. The onsen a few minutes walk from the hotel. It is fantastic. Huge property with many activities. Indoor pool for colder weather. The hotel has an illumination show for the evening. Wonderful place for families and highly recommended. One important tip, use the telephone number for your car navigation otherwise you might end up at the wrong, and closed, gate.
