  Lovely and comfortable 4 nights stay

  I really love the cottage we lived. It is a wooden cottage with a loft. On the ground floor, there are 2 beds, a kitchenette, a sitting area, a very functional bathroom, and a balcony which open to the lawn. The whole space is not big but very comfortable. The loft is a private space big enough for 2 Japanese futons to set up. It is true that the ladder to climb up the loft is quite straight. The owners are a Japanese couple and they are the most hospitable people. The wife speaks good English to communicate with the visitors and the husband is a handyman who fixes and maintains the cottage in a good shape. The desserts they prepared by using the fresh fruits from their garden are very delicious. They put them in our fridge and left a note on the coffee tale. They are the kindest. It has been 3 months since I stayed there in April, I still regards it a lovely stay and I would go back anytime.

  Wonderful stay at Mori no fairy

  We had 3 nights staying at Mori no fairy cottages during our week in Yakushima, and we really enjoyed it! The cottages are lovely and peaceful. They are cosy, modern and very clean. The owners are really lovely and seem to really enjoy what they do, willing to provide information and leaving homemade desserts in our room each day. We were also able to order a bentou box (lunch) to take hiking with us, which was great. It's definitely best to hire a car as a way to get around the island. Highly recommend this as a base for exploring Yakushima.

  Amazing views & hosts

  Ocean views, private balcony, clean rooms and very hospitable hosts! We brought our own food and the kitchen had everything we needed to make dinner. Beds were comfortable. Thank you for an exceptional two nights!

  Good and clean

  We stayed in a cottage for 3 nights. It was very clean and cosy. I suggest to order the breakfast, its Japanese style and really tasty. Go and buy coffee and other essentials in the supermarket in the village nearby, otherwise you will not get them in the cottage. Every day on the return from the hike there was a delicious dessert waiting for us, compliments of the cottage hosts. Very nice.

  Great cottage, hosts and location

  My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Yakushima at the end of September staying in a Skydeck & Terrace bath room. In short we had an absolutely amazing and lovely time. The cottage itself is cute, well kept and clean. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, during our stay they helped book hiking bentos for us (delicious!), recommend a local restaurant for dinner, as well as phone book a taxi (we are English speakers with only limited Japanese) for us one evening so we could visit a Izakaya in nearby Anbo for some drinks! We hiked most days, but loved coming back each night to the relaxing hot steel bath, as well as yummy complimentary desserts from the hosts! The small kitchen was plenty for us to be able to cook our own meals purchased from the Supermarket nearby (10 minute drive), yum! And the skydeck is magnificent to view the stars, we were lucky enough to have a clear night during our stay, beautiful! As with most of Yakushima you will need a car to get here and around the island, we were able to access all our chosen hiking trail-heads with approx. 45minutes from this accomodation which was super convenient, another great plus. I could go on and on about this location, it really was perfect for us (I havent even mentioned the nearby ice-cream shop, restaurants and beach onsens!). I really hope we can come back someday and stay again!
