  Our stay at Yahsin Business Hotel was not off to a good start when it took almost 40 minutes to get checked into 4 rooms. They also took quite a large deposit from my credit card - more than the cost of our stay. The rooms are small and cramped and I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that there are no doors to the bathroom! Even in the standard rooms with 2 beds. So if you open the front door, you can see into the toilet and shower! Keep this in mind if you plan to share a room with a friend. Would you be comfortable using a toilet with no door? The bathroom had many broken tiles and the floor was quite grimy. I took to showering wearing my rubber flipflops. Checking out was another nightmare. They were unable to refund the deposit which they took from my card so they charged the room fee seperately and promised to refund the deposit when they went to the bank the next day. Let's hope that the money actually gets refunded! It took more than 30 minutes to check out and our taxis were waiting for 15 minutes for us. However, the saving grace for this hotel is that it's within easy walking distance from the ShangHai World Expo and the beds are very comfortable. The staff can also be quite accomodating when they aren't trying to check us in or out! After the first exhausting day at the expo, we asked where we could find a foot and leg massage parlour, and they arranged someone to come directly to our room for the massage instead.

  NOT a 4star hotel!

  As I said this is NOT a 4 star hotel. It's rather a 2.5 star. The rooms, unlike the rest of things in China, are VERY small. It's design is rather fresh and modern but it has not been maintained so!!! It's a shame. The shower and toilet share a single door. You have to see in order to understand what I mean. A good price for it will be not more than 60 euro per room per night. The personell are VERY slow but VERY friendly. The breakfast is not so bad, but it's missing some cheese Don't accept a room on the ground floor as the drains stink!!!!!!!

  Budget hotel

  I was there for a meeting and the hotel has not so good standards, it is probably a two star hotel. Personnel speak very little English if at all, it was difficult to get to the hotel since not many taxi drivers new it and the card did not had the address in Chinese (after the first experience i ask for the address in Chinese and they handed another card that was helpful). It seems this is a hotel for Chinese businessmen, wifi was free and available at the room and breakfast has mostly Chinese food, not very good quality but not bad. Location is not very good since is about 20 minutes walking to the metro station, but since taxis are cheap in Shanghai, this is not a major problem.

  Avg. 2 Star Hotel

  Booked it through a booking site which showed it as a 4 star hotel ... in reality the hotel was much older and nothing like shown on website. Small cramped rooms with worn out furnishings. May have been much better when new.

  Cheap hotel

  We 4 sisters booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. Upon checking in, we have to change both rooms. First room the air conditioning was not working. The other room there's no door to the toilet, only with a curtain that could only close half of the door way. The entire bathroom is partition with clear glass, only with slightly more than half human height covered by frosted sheet which was so so thin that we can almost see the naked body when we used the toilet or shower. The toilet wall which was facing the room is CLEAR GLASS! Don't even have the frosted sheet. To provide privacy, they installed a curtain in the room. Mind you, the curtain cannot fully cover the entire wall left a big gap to peep through!!! If you are being naughty, you can just pull open the curtain while the other party is showing by having a nice free show. How stupid it can be? The lighting is bad, the chamber maid didn't clean the room thoroughly, cup was not washed, toilet roll holder was broken but not replaced, wifi can only connect whatsapp message but not whatsapp call. Don't even dream of serve the Internet. My sister's whatsapp hang but when I off her wifi and hotspot my data with her, the app worked! Can u imagine how bad the wifi was? Staff seem courteous but not warm. They won't even bother to provide minimum service but only standing behind the counter to check in and out for you that's it! I read some of the reviews the location is good. Honestly, getting around in SH with cab is the best way. So anywhere is convenient. I don't see why this can be the reason to stay here. In summary, if you don't mind the above, this hotel is cheap to stay. Better than some YMCA standard. For me, I won't come back again!
