    Backpackers only

I loved the area (Nakano is well connected and pretty central) but don't expect great things from this place. Staff was very cool but the rooms are just little holes where to pass the nights. You share toilets (which are very cleaned) and equipments are at basics. pretty noisy in the evenings , sleep quality is not the best but i enjoyed for my 4 nights in Tokyo

Cheap hostel - a bit dirtu

I booked this without reading any reviews. It was one of the cheaper hostels so I booked it in haste. It is in Nakano, which is a bit out of the way. Its on the end of the light blue train line. Keep this in mind if you intend to go out at night because a taxi to your hostel will be extremely expensive. I stayed in the 10 bed mixed dorm. It was fairly dirty and there was nowhere to store my bag. The whole room looks like a rundown place people have been squatting in. The room smelled quite a bit, but it was probably the men in the room. This place is acceptable only if you really need to save money. However, if you pay only 10 USD more you can stay in a much nicer hostel. I cant complain too much about the price. It was pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for here.

Cheap and good place to stay at. Very worth it for the price.

My friend and I stayed here when we visited Tokyo for 5 days several months ago. After doing some reading up on here, I thought that it didn't sound like a very bad hostel to stay at, and indeed, my stay wasn't bad at all. We made a booking via email, and were allowed to pay on the day we arrive. We stayed in the 10 person room, which was pretty nice and comfortable. They even provided us with keys so that we can use the back door once reception was closed. The Japanese reception staff were very nice, and was able to speak in English pretty fluently. Apparently they had a one-coin dinner event every week where you can join in a dinner party by paying 500 yen, but we didn't join in on the day it took place on. For the price, I'd say that this place is really worth it, considering that soap is even provided in the showers.

Cheapest non terrible accommodation in Tokyo

There is a reason why its often so hard to get a room here. Not only is it by far the cheapest hostel in the city, but its located in an awesome part of Tokyo with great nightlife and close to both public transport and tourist attractions. Its clean enough, the buildings a bit small... so what. The staff where super nice too.
