  Overall, we had a reasonable experience at the Xiamen Royal Victoria Hotel, but once we reminded ourselves that this was meant to be a 5 star hotel, its difficult to give it anymore than an 'average' rating; Positives: - The hotel is well-designed with unique and eye-catching Andalusian-style architecture. The seaviews from the room balcony (if you face the right way) is quite picturesque and you may forget for a moment that you are in China. - The rooms are spacious with a king sized bed, large bathroom and an office desk. - The hotel contains a well-equipped gym and a huge multi-laned swimming pool - the biggest I've ever seen at a hotel. Negatives: - The room was in need of some maintenance as evidenced by cracks and chipped tiles in the bedroom and bathroom. A luxury 5-star hotel should promptly deal with these problems. - There was noticeable dust on the floorboards, which suggest the cleaning job was less than satisfactory. - Wi-fi connection was not consistent across the hotel. As soon as you stepped out of your room, you have more or less lost your connection which was very disappointing. - Whilst the gym was well-equipped, it was in a different building next to the hotel which can be inconvenient, especially when there isn't an easy passage back into the hotel. - Check-in, and especially check-out was unbelievably slow, despite there being little to no queue. Staff may require additional training on how to be more efficient. - Location isn't ideal for quick and easy access to the city centre.

  You are a potential thief for them. Terrible Management . Staff very rude . Do not even think to stay here. They have zero experience to run an hotel n. I Ve been traveling all over the world so many year probably the worst one I have ever seen.

  Stunning and relaxing Hotel !!!

  The size and bonus of having a balcony in the room of this fabulous hotel makes it the most wonderfully relaxing place to stay. It is near the beachfront but a 55 min walk from the main part of Xiamen, but taxis are very cheap and it has the most wonderfully relaxing feel when staying here. I recommend this hotel highly. Great breakfast and extremely good WiFi connections. A boon in China! I am sorry to leave!

  Business and relax place

  Very surprise of this hotel, just in the center of beautiful gardens with walking pads, incredible view to the ocean with nice balcony to seat and enjoy after journey or day work. Big room, good extra big bed, powerful shower. Restaurants are good, for Chinese food. Can improve a little the western breakfast.

  Big rooms with good comfort and sea view

  I've spend three days at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Xiamen to attend a conference. The hotel has a charming decor and architecture, with a grand entry hall and water fountain. There was also a piano player during my stay playing in the afternoon hours, very nice. Breakfast was ok, the rooms very big with high ceiling and balcony with sea view. Overall nice hotel, service speaks partially english, but has a good attitude. The location is a bit far away from the center, but on the plus side you take a run at the beach!
