  Expected better

  A really lovely place, great room ( sunset room) We found the food excellent, great quality although could be hotter. Spent most days at the archipelago bar. And visited Turgutreis three times. Beautiful harbour and plenty of restaurants and shops. Hotel staff we found inconsistent, Rosebud bar of an evening sometimes great sometimes having to go find a member of staff or go to the bar myself. The main restaurant , we found often especially breakfast and dinner, having to wait quite sometime for cutlery and drinks. As I said I found the food really good the chefs serving the food very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was ok. The firestorm show the best by far. Covid- sanitiser everywhere, all staff constantly worn masks BUT one exception . The entertainments manager. We were there 11 nights . He actually stood out because he didnt wear his mask . Just kept it round his elbow, which was a shame as ALL other staff wore masks . On leaving our pickup was 20.00 hrs. I requested late checkout. I was told our room was free and not needed so no problem, we can have it till 17.00. I asked for 20.00 and was told it would be 50 I asked for a complimentary room to use prior to departure, but the hotel do not operate this. Luggage was taken to the luggage room which is actually left out next to reception. Also no scale to check weigh cases. A previous review states it the little things that make the hotel. Totally true. Compared to other 5 star resorts. Xanadu was left wanting.

  Thank you!

  We stayed as a honeymoon couple in September. They were very helpful with the room. Staff was very friendly and caring. Mr. Alperen and his team were very friendly as the animation team. Food was good, lunch was a la carte, Although breakfast and dinner;was an open buffet, the preparation of the plate by the employees was very good in terms of covid measures. We had a very nice holiday, thank you very much everyone.

  5th Visit - Excellent as always

  This was my 5th visit to this hotel. We always tend to visit either in April or October. We arrived on 17th Oct and left on 24th Oct this time round and only experienced slightly poor weather on 1 day. The hotel is a good 1 hr 15 mins by taxi from Bodrum airport but it's well worth the trip. Located on it's own peninsula - the hotel is stunning with sea views all around. The hotel is always kept immaculately clean based on our previous visits and this time was no exception - the additonal covid measures were great too with face masks and hand gel provided everywhere. Due to the current climate the hotel was exceptionally quiet this time round. I believe they are due to close for the winter season shortly. We had no issues or long waits for service at any of the bars or the restaurant and sunbeds were plentiful throughout the day whether by the private beach or by the pools. We went as a group of 4 males and each booked our own rooms. We had 2 courtyard suites overlooking the main pool and 2 sunset suites that overlooked the 2nd smaller pool (near the Archipelago bar). The rooms are huge and well equipped and have everything you could need for a comfortable stay. We made use of the hotel laundry service which was great. The minibars are re-stocked daily with water and soft drinks too. The hotel wi-fi has been significantly improved. I am not sure if this was due to the low number of guests using it or if the hotel has invested in the internet but we definitely noticed an improvement compared to previous visits. There aren't many English channels on the TVs but we took a laptop loaded with downloaded films (connected to the hotel tv's via hdmi cable) and we also took a Nintendo switch so we didn't get bored in the evenings. We visited Bodrum for some shopping on one day. The taxi cost about 120TL each way. We also booked a private boat tour from the guy who walks around the hotel's pool area trying to sell you trips / experiences. The boat trip starts and ends down by the beach at the hotel which appealed to us. we paid 350 euros for a private trip for the 4 of us and this included lunch + tea and coffee. If you ask at the hotel bar you can take drinks such as soft drinks, water and beer with you (the boat has a fridge / cooler). There are slight changes to the dining due to Covid. Breakfast and Dinner are buffets but the staff are on hand to dish out the food rather than you helping yourselves. Lunch is a la carte and table service. You can also order food down by the smaller pool at the Archipelago Bar. Room service menu is basic but good if you fancy something late in the evening after drinking a lot! it's 10 euros service charge per order but no restriction on how much you can order so it's worthwhile if needed. The hotel was very quiet so we didn't have any problem using the bowling, table tennis, billiards as many times as we wanted in the sports bar. The sports bar could be improved by having better A/C. It always seemed to be stiflingly hot in there! There were events in the main bar area in the evening. We particularly enjoyed the karaoke night on the Monday. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel and one that we will definately be visiting again next time we come to Turkey. The factilities, staff and service are incredible. Highly recommend.

  Excellent third time visit

  This hotel catered fantastic to say the unpredicted times we are having to witness.All the staff wore face masks ,and sanitiser was everywhere even on every table as you sat down.I was very reluctant at first to come away but never in my two week stay did I ever feel unsafe ,probably more unsafe at home.Th room once again was wonderful and the view was spectacular.Starting at the top I would like to thank Ismail Kasimi for offering to take us to the airport when we didnt think Tui were coming ,and managing this wonderful island all these years.I would like to thank Aytek Ozkan for the gorgeous Room and returning my E-mails.Esta the fitness instructor was fantastic and helped me every day with yoga and Pilates ,I am missing her already .Alperen Guney for keeping us entertained with his chats and darts and entertainment.Mahsun Demir waiter in the archipelago bar who had our order down on the table before we had ordered fantastic service.Ummu Gumus in the sports bar ,she wS constantly cleaning and sanertising all the equipment in the bowling alley ,and was so kind and helpful to us .These people are just a few to mention but all the staff on the island deserve a mention but I would be here all day.we have already booked for next year and carnt wait to return ,and thank you all for giving us such a wonderful COVID 19 holiday this year in safe surroundings .

  Very good hotel, 2nd visit for us!

  We first stayed at the Xanadu Island Hotel last year for the last 2 weeks of September. We stayed in the Romance suite for two weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff, BBQ food area, pool and decking area was amazing. We definitely recommend upgrading to the Romance suite because as well as the room being amazing, the upgrade also includes a free massage, a photoshoot with 1 free picture, breakfast in the room and two reservations at the restaurants on the complex. This year we stayed in the romance suite again, but this time in the first 2 weeks of October. We were a little anxious about travelling because of Covid-19, however the staff at Xanadu make you feel relaxed and safe. They are continually cleaning and all wearing masks which was really good. The buffet food is now served to you by the staff instead of you doing it which is also good. The only thing that wasn't as good as last time was the photoshoot. Last year we had a great photoshoot with the photographer and bought several pictures. This year was a different photographer who kept making us do poses we didn't want to do. Even though we told him we wouldn't buy the pictures in this poses he still wanted us to do them. We only bought 1 picture this year were as last year we bought several. The waiter called Ramazan samak was definitely the best we had. He was continuingly bringing us drink refills and making sure we were happy and relaxed. Will definitely return to this hotel in the future, may even upgrade to the elegance suite!
