  Pleasantly surprised

  Was not expecting a great experience based on reviews and past Wyndham experiences. Exchanged via RCI and get frustrated that you can't know your location on the island, when you book. However, our 2 bdrm unit assignment at Bay Point was awesome. It appeared recently renovated. Loved the water views,balcony, decor, soaking tub, large shower and comfy bed! Great sunets! It was almost perfect!!! ( We travel a lot and perfect is rare!) The only complaint....can hear every step the person above you takes! Thank goodness we had a quiet neighbor. Rambunctious kids would have ruined our week! We also love visiting in winter .. .quiet, low key solitude.It was so refreshingly quiet and relaxing! It was a great week!!!!

  Winter at the beach

  Beautifully designed and decorated 2BR at the Marsh Point area. Very clean. Appreciated the elevator to the third floor. Close to indoor heated pool. One slight maintenance issue that was handled quickly.

  Very Comfortable Stay

  This is our first time staying on Edisto Island and we're glad we were able to stay at Ocean Ridge. The two-bedroom suite was really top rate with a full kitchen, comfortable furniture, a deck overlooking the golf course where we were able to view the year-round residents (deer) every evening and vaulted ceilings. The kitchen is a real benefit considering there are only about a half-dozen restaurants at Edisto Island Beach. The only rub was the pillows were a bit lacking for our taste, but the bed was comfortable.

  Great Unit

  We stayed in The Villages outside the check in gate across the street on Dockside in unit 690. We were offered room 691. It was bright. We discovered we had to climb 2 sets of steep stairs. We asked to be on the lower floor in room 690 so we would only have to climb up one set of steep stairs. This unit was a tad bit darker because of the surrounding trees. Both units were spotless. The jetted tub is humongous and so is the shower. The TV is in a weird location. I love the wrap around porch. We stayed here over 10 years ago. Back rhenthe water smelled horrific despite the water filter. Room 690 had regular smelling water. Be careful. Right after the little strip of stores, 2 deer were in the middle of the street on Lybrand avenue. We were here for a funeral so the quietude and nature was welcoming. It was cold and did not warm up to 70 degrees until the day we were checking out. So we are returning next month.

  Large resort on small island.

  Weather was not the greatest during our stay. This is a large resort. We were given a one bedroom outside the main entrance. If you like to walk, the beach was not too far away and the free miniature golf was about a 10 minute walk. We played two days. There were no other resort activities. The pool by us was closed. The indoor pool was a good walk away and like a sauna. The island is only about 2 miles by 3 miles so everything close. There is one grocery store that was reasonably priced. The one golf course on the island is within the resort but $70 plus tax. I paid less in Florida and Hilton Head. The food on the island was great. We ate at Briny Swine and Coots. Got takeout from Tortuga Mexican and La Retta's Pizza. All were very good. The last 20 miles of the drive to the island is a real eyesore. We did go to the "update" meeting but left when they went over the promised 90 minutes.
