DisappointedWe have been coming to this hotel at least 3 times a year for the past 4-5 years. We have found it convenient for our annual travels and have recommended to friends. This time we checked ahead of time on what the COVID protocol was and were told that we could expect proper steps being taken. Did not notice any extra steps to clean rooms so we wiped things down. Told that guests and staff would be required to wear masks while in the halls, etc. Not so. We saw numerous signs stating that masks were 'REQUIRED". Only about 10% of the guests had them and the clerk at the desk did not wear one. She continually came out into the lobby, and went in and out of the hotel. The indoor pool was open while the outside one was closed. Many people from the pool were going back to rooms maskless. Understand this is hard to enforce, but if staff is lax then you cannot expect guests to follow rules. We were planning two more trips this year with friends. Thinking about looking for another place.

Family visitWe always stay at this hotel when we travel home to visit. We enjoy the hot tub and bar/restaurant. But this time hot tub was not open and bar/restaurant had limited items. I understand this may be due to the situation we are in at this time. We will most likely stay here again.

A restful timeThe location is easy to find. The indoor pool is a plus. Staff overall at check in were good. I am glad to see protection glass at check in. Most people are obeying the signage. The breakfast bag options were good.

Not Pet FriendlyWe used to belong to the rewards program with LaQuinta, and almost exclusively stayed at LaQuintas because of their pets stay free policy. Unfortunately, since the Wyndham takeover, more and more LaQuintas are charging a $15 to $20 per pet or pet fee flat rate. So, things change. Not a huge deal. However, we recently stayed at this Wyndham Garden and I will tell you what is a big deal. $35 per dog is a big deal. Our room rate was $76 and the pet fee for 2 dogs was $70 for one night. If you aren't traveling with dogs, you will get what you except from a $76 hotel room, clean-ish with decent service. If you are traveling with dogs, understand that this is a pet-tolerant, not at all pet-friendly hotel and for double the price you will still only get clean-ish and decent.

No Masks in SightReally horrible experience here. Staff was nice enough, but none of them wore masks except for one man who I believe may have been in maintenance- I saw him wearing a mask around his chin. I believe there was even a mask order by the Governor that was posted on the front door to the hotel. The guestroom corridor where I stayed reeked of cigarette and marijuana smoke, and I suspect people were smoking in their rooms even though the hotel is supposed to be fully non-smoking. Maybe that's why there was a loud dehumidifier running in my room. Also, the exterior door leading to the rear parking lot was ajar and wouldn't close or lock- which led me to feel very unsafe as a female traveling solo.
