  Great views - poor service/leadership

  Heed the other reviews and warnings: Facts: No A/C No Business Center No Lunch available 25 euros for come-one-come-all dinner service that ends too early and isn't clearly marked (opinion) Heavy physical key that allows the doors to be left unlocked and also is uncomfortable and extremely heavy to carry. I liken it to a gas-station who wishes their keys not be stolen. Front door locks at 10pm and we needed to ask for a separate physical key to be able to reenter. WiFi did not work from our room the entire stay, as with other guests. We sat around the lobby trying to make contact or do work. Opinions: Traveling companions were treated poorly in the dining room, received 'eye rolls' when wanting water to drink and while they were served food, they didn't get any choice as to what they were being served. There is no 'sand' at the beach, so I don't call it a beach myself. The water is magnificent, granted, but that is for all the hotels and has nothing to do with this hotel. The waters edge is a long way from the hotel and nearly inaccessible. Two of our six people even bothered to walk all the stairs over the train tracks to bother to check it out. The train is without a doubt loud and very frequent. See the lack of A/C and then the need to keep windows open and hence letting in even more train noise. The receptionists varied greatly. We had some wonderful daytime help that appeared to be trying in spite of managements efforts to put on a poor quality product. The evening help was not helpful. Reservations where confused and mixed up and I tried to repeated and politely clear things up. I was woken in the middle of the day after my Ironman to be told it was time to checkout when it clearly was not. I had to straighten out yet another book keeping mistake on their end. I politely did so for yet another time. Finally, on checkout, after all the mis-steps, the rudeness, the lack of facilities, poor food choices and expensive, I was told at checkout that I needed to pay for my 'extra night'. The manager was terrible and took zero responsibility for the actions of the staff. He made no attempt to clarify or to find the issue with the travel agency. He tried to tell me what I had said which were lies (i.e. that I told them I was staying an extra night. I did not). He tried to hold me to a document which I clearly did not fill in. It had Euro style dates vs. my American style. He refused to call my contact who arranged for the accomodations (and whom I paid). He was terrible. He asked "what else can I do?" I told him that he could invite me to go have breakfast while he called to get things straightened out like a professional. I told him that he could collect information and we could straighten things out after the fact like adults instead of demanding to be paid. I said "I will not pay twice" and he insisted that I do. I refused. Once the travel agency was contacted, he understood that I had paid for the full night and that I didn't owe him anything. He simply said that it was taken care of and again took no responsibility. He is modeling poor behavior for his staff and it shows for some of them. I stated that I had a string of issues and I've been overly patient for 4 days. He did not take responsibility. It was his staffs fault. Which he taught them. Poor service. I told him that I had been treated as if I were a bother to him and he stated "Customers like you, yes." "Customers like me". Customers like me are patient and try to communicate and eventually run out of patience when treated poorly repeatedly by an unkempt and poor manager. I recommended that the travel agency STOP booking with this hotel. That they may want to consider if they wish to be associated with them or not. A grievance is presently underway. Finally, as is done with other reviews, I expect nothing less than a defensive response regarding how it was all my fault and that they take no responsibility for anything that happens. Ask yourself if you see a pattern and if this is a place you wish to travel to. Views great? Yep! Water amazing? yep! You can do this in other hotels though. Those have nothing to do with this hotel.

  Negative The train is extremely loud!!!! They must tell you this by check in. No a/c in the room so you must sleep with opens window, the trains drive in front every 20 minutes. The shower ist the smallest I have every seen, so I can imagine when people with over 100 kilo may have a problem with it. In bathroom ist not working the ventilator. No chance to became something too eat between breakfast and dinner. The beach is over the rail road and you need to go many stairs down. No wifi in the room only reception area although in internet says all areas. Positive Beautiful view and a great balcony. Extremely clean room and very comfortable bed. Very, I mean very good breakfast

  It was the firts and the last time...

  Even the staff is very nice and helpfull... the rest is far away from a 4* hotel. The room was totaly cold when I arrived. There was nothing in the minibar or in the room. So if want to drink a water or anything else after 22:00 you can forget it. If you would like to start your day earlier you can forget as well. Breakfast just after 7:30...

  Very nice stay

  This hotel is located right at Worthersee lake. There is ample parking available free of charge outside. This hotel is also very well connected to motorways, being only some 5-6 minutes of drive away from A2 motorway. Hotel was very clean, however had a 90s - early 00s look. Of course the biggest highlight is the Worthersee lake, and this hotel features private beach with a bar and ample space to lay down. As there is a railtrack between hotel building and a lake, there is a safe passage built from the hotel building, over the tracks and down to the beach. This hotel also features a wellness center, with a pool and saunas. Speaking of railtrack, I was a little worried about this however, I have to point out that all of the hotels on this shore have the same problem, however it turned out that railtrack was suprisingly quiet. There was no rail noise inside the hotel or inside my room, outside while laying on the beach and reading a book I actually didn´t notice trains at all. Worthersee is a fabolous lake, warm, extremely clean and a perfect and popular spot for a few days of relax. The major downside of this hotel were surprisingly breakfast. Only a very basic selection was available reminding me more of an Ibis budget than a 4 star hotel. Room was clean, of an average size and without air conditioning. Bathroom was quite large actually, with some nice amenities. Staff was hit or miss really, extremely nice or cold and effective as is usual for Austria. This is a nice hotel and I will be coming back, this lake is an absolute gem.

  Great views, nice rooms

  This place is a tad hard to find, but so worth it. Fantastic views to the lake. A creative and fun bridge to their own swimming doc. Super staff. Dont let the trains bother you. While they are close, the room windows seal it off to a whisper. Ill re book next year!
