    Fabulous Half Term Break

Thank you all at Woolley Grange for making our first outing of 2020 a truly memorable one. The staff make this place what it is - a true home away from home where you can put your feet up and truly unwind. Nothing is too much trouble for the team at Woolley Grange - who are all wonderful at prioritising child fun and parent relaxation. We were welcomed by the fabulous Leti at reception who gave us a tour of the property on arrival, exciting the kids with details of the cinema + popcorn room, sheep trails and fairy gardens. It set the tone for an amazing 4 days. Its unfair on the rest of the team to just call Leti out, everyone from the two ladies in the Den, the Spa staff and gardeners in the Walled Garden were so lovely. The property itself is warm, relaxed and built for autumn winter months with open fires and cosy lighting. If we were being really picky, there are definitely some areas that need a little touch up - our room, the Chapman suite was great for a family of 5 but suffered from a little condensation and tired decor. The food is great. The drinks are always available wherever you are on the property and the menu of activities was incredibly for our children aged 2-5. In terms of Covid health and safety, masks were worn by all guests and staff indoors and we felt very safe as a result. We will 100% be returning to this property for many more family breaks to come. Well done to all the staff for delivering an amazing family experience.

Fantastic stay for my Mum's 70th

We stayed at Woolley Grange for my Mum's 70th - 6 adults and 4 children 1, 4, 9 & 11. For us, Woolley Grange ticked every box - fantastic, thoughtful facilities for children of all ages to keep them occupied and give them space to run around in a safe and fun environment. Food is fantastic couldn't fault it and great value for money. Our rooms were perfect with kids - each room had a lounge where the kids slept in either bunkbeds/cot/zbed. The staff were simply fabulous, so thoughtful with amazing attention to detail to ensure our stay was pretty damn perfect!

    Lovely weekend, staff were brilliant

We stayed for two nights with our two children and my husbands parents. We were two different bubbles, our family of 4 and the grandparents separately. The hotel coped really well with this. Lunch had to be outside in the open sided marquee because we wanted to sit at the same table. The marquees are very festive, nicely decorated and did have a heater. It was still a little chilly and we did have to wrap up warm although they did provide blankets and they do have mulled wine on the menu. And great hot chocolates. It was too cold to eat dinner outside so we had to sit on two separate tables in the restaurant but the staff did make sure that we were on tables next to each other. Although we were 2m apart we could still talk to each other and if possible were on tables further from other diners so as not to disturb them with our (slightly louder) conversation. Sofas in the sitting rooms were also organised so that two bubbles could sit opposite each other and be 2m apart but still able to talk. Everything has to be booked so you need to be organised in advance to ensure you get a slot. The pool can be booked for an hour and each bubble gets its own lane. The kids club can be booked for an hour which is less than pre Covid but still very welcome when most hotels have cancelled them altogether. Breakfast has to be booked at a specific time. All the outdoor facilities such as the trampoline, football nets, croquet etc are still available anytime. I imagine for a single household it would largely feel exactly as it used to pre Covid. For us being two households it was different as we couldnt share a table inside but the hotel have made it as good as it can possibly be within the rules. We had a really lovely time and are so glad we went ahead with the trip. I should also say that the food is excellent!

    Wow with a capital W

Now, where do I do start? My husband and I, along with our 6 yr old daughter stayed here for a last-minute 3 night Christmas break and it was awesome. The staff were outstanding, from the moment I booked the break with Dawn through the reservations team, to a lovely warm welcome from Jordan on reception and to the gentleman (who I can't remember his name, sorry) who works in the pool/restaurant that went out of his way to book us a swimming season even though it was fully booked. I would like to mention all the staff by their names but there were too many to remember. So I would like to say a big thank you to all the team for making our Christmas stay magical especially with the little touches such as; Mince pie, carrots and a glass of milk for Santa, the Christmas stockings (adults and children too) that greeted us on opening our room door on Christmas morning with Santa's footprints and then another visit from the big man himself while eating breakfast with another present for us all. My husband was really impressed that part of his gift from Santa was some beer which he was drinking the night before, (they say that Santa is always watching!) We stayed in a small family room which to our surprise was upgraded from a small double room which we booked. The room was lovely as it had a separate area where our daughter could sleep which meant we could relax in the room of an evening without waking her up. The hotel itself was outstanding and relaxing especially with a 6yr old as it had early dinner settings for the children and then they could go into the movie room while we enjoyed an amazing meal in the restaurant together. Thank you for an amazing stay.

    Excellent christmas........

We knew christmas would be different this year but you wouldn't know it if you were staying at the Woolley Grange. As soon as we walked in, the warm welcome from Jordan in reception set the tone for the rest of our stay. The staff here are AMAZING! We were very lucky to be upgraded to the most cosiest room, the style of decor is classic and homely, we all slept very well. The whole hotel was decked out for christmas, there was wreath making, quad biking, donkey rides, gingerbread house making and even a visit from santa! Presents were left outside our door (adults included) on christmas morning along with santas footprints, it was MAGICAL! Our kids were in heaven x The food WOW, Fred and Emma in the dining room were a joy and always made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. We ate and drank to our hearts content x A big thank you to the wonderful chefs who worked throughout christmas keeping us all fed! A special mention to the wonderful walled garden full of flowers, herbs, chickens, ducks, kids playhouses. Just wonderful! We felt so secure in the hotel, our two children who are 3 and 7 could safely roam around the hotel, with no issue. Christmas films were played in the cinema room while we had dinner and the wonderful Solange who was my absolute favourite kept them happy with popcorn and ice cream! Overall, this is a fantastic place to spend christmas, its not cheap but its christmas and our kids have the best memories. Thank you so much Woolley grange xx
