Booked room not available2 friends and I booked this hotel about 6 weeks ago for a party. We were not expecting anything fancy, we chose this for somewhere to sleep that was fairly cheap and close to the party. My friend had received two emails from the hotel before our arrival about our check in time and rang them half an hour before our arrival to say we were almost there. On arrival the receptionist told us there was not actually a room available for us and they would be moving us to another hotel which they described as two minutes away by car and booked us a taxi for. We were a little confused as to why this had not been mentioned in the aforementioned emails and phone call. We should have been given the opportunity to either keep our booking or cancel it due to it not being as described. The second hotel was not 2 minutes away (more like 20) and we arrived there at around 2.45 having been at the first hotel at 2. On arrival we were told we'd been sent to the wrong place and our room was actually at a third hotel. However, they offered us a room if we did wish to stay there consisting of a double bed and a mattress on the floor. We declined as this is not what we had booked. The receptionist of the first and second hotels discussed this on the phone in front of us implying we were being fussy not wanting to sleep on the floor. A taxi was booked to take us to a third hotel which we arrived at for around 3.30. The room was as expected and we checked in. The party we had planned to attend started at 2. We had originally booked our hotel based on wanting to walk to the party and the new hotel was double the distance meaning we could not walk. We rang and asked for Woodlands Lodge to pay for a taxi to our party as they had completely scuppered our original plans but they refused, stating they would pay for a taxi back to woodlands lodge and then we could walk from there however this was no good to us as we were already an hour and a half later than planned having been transferred to 3 different places. On another note, we checked the booking site we booked on that evening and it still had rooms for three advertised at woodlands lodge for 6x the price we paid! Not sure if they were filling the rooms up for more money or if they hadn't updated the booking site - I hate to think someone paying over £350 for this room would have the same experience.

LOVELY , LOVELY STAYIt was cozy and and sterile property , with courteous and Helpful staff!! Big thumbs to the Manager , Sarah & Adriana who helped me with every single detail during my stay. Towels were always replaced, and plenty too. TV stations were entertaining, Breakfast was free, property was super clean , super quiet . Wish the pre authorization on my card came faster though but who knows .

Worst place we have ever stayed inMy family and I booked for 2 nights two weekends ago. To be quite honest, it was probably the worst place we had ever stayed in for the following reasons: - The room smelt of damp and they covered patches of fungus and damp with bad splurges of paint - The bathroom's fan was disturbing and loud, making strange noises whenever the light was turned on. It also smelt of damp and decay - The floor was dirty and clearly had not been hoovered for days - There was a cupboard provided but no hangers (so what really is the point?) - The seat completely came off the chair which is very dangerous for any older person to sit on - They said a full breakfast would be provided but when we got there, all it was was a box of cereal and fruit salad that clearly came from a tin. There were no bowls, spoons or glasses either to serve ourselves with and when trying to make tea, there was only out of date milk in the fridge to use. - Apart from a couple of the gents, the staff were not very friendly or approachable. Definitely would not recommend this place. You can get somewhere for the same price and at much better standard if you were to book the Travelodge. Still waiting on deposit to be returned! Please do not book here!
