  Great Burgers & Great Service

  Spent a very enjoyable time lately in the Woods Top class burgers and really well looked after by Joan & Denis Would really recommend for food and craic is great. Will be back Sunday for the Roast Beef Mark & Mary

  Had dinner here with the family for my birthday and it was fantastic, Joan & Jill looked after us so well even brought me a birthday dessert thanks so much for everything kids loved it food was amazing and well presented Stayed here a few times and we will be back

  A relaxed and Fuss Free Staycation

  This is the first hotel I stayed in as part of our staycation, we stayed Aug 5th Aug 8th. I had seen it recommended on social media and as usual looked on Tripadvisor for reviews first . We basically wanted a no fuss hotel as we have seen a lot of negative comments on some hotels due to Cov-id restrictions. On check in receptionist was lovely but over the 4 days I do think the other receptionist wasn't very cheerful and on check out didn't even raise head to greet us. Room was a lovely family room but it was very warm as weather quite heavy, we bought a fan for room so all sorted. There are no longer glasses or cups in rooms given current restrictions but we had brought picnic bag so again not a problem. Firstly we didnt need to book the pool (which was great and one of the reasons we booked this hotel), we were advised that if pool became busy we would have to leave after 45 mins and could come back again later. On Weds, Thurs and Fri we never had to leave the pool, but we did notice it had become a lot busier by Sat but again the staff managing pool were spot on and kept everything flowing. We were asked to take our showers in our rooms rather than using showers in changing rooms, which was also fine. We asked about the bar set up as I had heard of some hotels imposing the 105 min rule and having to buy food in bar even though you are a resident in hotel and also not allowing pre or post drinks. Thankfully this hotel doesn't sign up for this nonsense. We were able to pop in and have a drink without having to buy food as we were having dinner later on. Personally I feel not everyone goes to bar for a drink some people like to have a coffee and relax. They also provided ice for us to have with our drinks in room. We had 11 and 12 year old with us and the TVs have Netflix set up so it was great being able to watch some movies given content on TV is poor right now. Breakfast has to be booked night before which was fine as buffets are a thing of the past. On first day we had full breakfast but next day opted for mini breakfast which was large enough and very tasty. We did ask for soft boiled eggs on last day but they were very hard(again minor issue). The staff were great and very busy but kept it all running smoothly and hats off to them getting everyone served. This hotel was very nice and whilst adhering to new guidelines it still managed to provide a more relaxed experience. Overall we had a great stay and have recommended to some friends who haven't had as good as experience elsewhere. I also booked directly with hotel as prices on other travel sites seemed to have much higher rates. Also the location of this hotel is great for going to Dunmore East and into Waterford city. We did a trip to Dungarvin and we ate out in some really nice restaurants such as Brooklyn in Ardkeen. Lovely Chinese restaurant Golden Jade Chinese also in Ardkeen, great food and lovely staff. We had a delicious meal in Mclearys, all homemade great food, superb steak and onion rings. Will definitely be back. We also did a trip down to Tramore so the girls could have some fun in the Amusements etc. We really enjoyed this staycation, it was so good to get away

  Just back home today after a 3 night stay in the hotel, Staff were so helpful but a particular shout out to cathal in the leisure centre for being so kind and to cara in reception who was so polite and professional and recommended the most amazing places for us to dine. Family room was large and clean, swimming pool was spotless, rooms got a bit hot at night but was promptly given a fan when requested, Amazing value for money, defiantly recommend

  Great Family Hotel

  3 Night Midweek Stay Stayed here with my husband and 2 daughters, 2.5 years and 10 months old. Couldnt really fault the hotel. The location was great for us as we were going to the beach in the mornings and to excursions too. Lovely breakfast all 3 mornings. Rooms were clean and linen changed every day. The leisure centre was very clean too with a lovely sized pool and baby pool lovely and warm. Lovely staff in all areas of hotel and must say we felt very safe too with regards to covid precautions. Will be back
