  My 70 year old mother who has dementia attempted to make a booking via trivago for this property back in early February as she was looking to stay somewhere with my brother that air conditioning with a pool due to it being a unseasonably hot weekend. Before she had entered all her details the website gave her a message stating that the the webpage had timed out and booking could not processed. Since this time she has found that she has been charged by this B & B ie Wombats B & B over 600.00 for a booking that the webpage advised did not go through, nor did she receive a confirmation email from trivago or Wombats advising booking had been made. She has contacted Wombat B & B to advise of this mistake however they refuse to refund her the money. Considering the above circumstances this is despicable customer service from Wombat B & B

  Good home style accommodation

  This was an overnight stay as part of a road trip. With a seniors concession, the price was very competitive. I was in a large downstairs room and there were no other guests in this area so the shared bathroom/toilet was no problem. There was a comfortable lounge area with a large TV, and free wifi. The decor and facilities were 'homely' but everything was very clean, espacially the kitchen with its self-catering facilities. The extensive serve-yourself continental breakfast with a great variety of fruit and cerals on offer was excellent and oncluded in the tariff..Overall, I was very happy with the experience of staying here and would recommend it to anyone who can understand the difference between home-style accommodation and a 5-star hotel.

  Wombat Burrows.

  Stayed overnight recently. The complex itself and my room was very clean and tidy. I have never stayed at a B&B before and was very happy that I decided to stay. Initially the price was the big reason and definitely not expensive. The manager gave me a discount for being over 55. I was also upgraded to a bigger 'burrow'. You get a lot of bang for your buck. The kitchen was well stocked for breakfast. All cooking appliances and utensils are available. There are a couple of sitting areas that have TV's, games, books etc. There is a pool and outdoor area which would be great for the warmer months. The manager Laurie is very helpful and went through everything. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting good accommodation. It is not far from point Clare station.

  Avoid this place

  Unfortunately there is nothing nice about this place. Arrived to dirty outdoor area with full ashtrays on the tables. At checkin we were asked to pay an additional $25 to our already charged credit card. We were not provided the twin room we booked. Laminated Rules plastered all over the place including do not flush a toilet shared by 5 rooms (yuck). No aircon. No fans. Challenging parking with steep driveway. There is something strange about this place. It felt like you are watched and no privacy. Not worth the $165 we paid for one night.

  Me and my wife travelled to Aus from NZ for a few weeks earlier this year and had the misfortune (or stupidity!!!) to stay at Wombats. We got there and the place was dirty, parking the car was a nightmare, but what really upset us was the owner, who is just the rudest most obnoxious person we have ever met. Luckily we only stayed the one night
