  Still a very nci eplace but....

  My wife and I have enjoyed stayed at this resort a couple of times a year for the past several years. Recently we spent a long weekend there. It was still a beautiful place with well maintained grounds and nice places to walk. The staff in the restaurant and the gardeners and housekeepers remain as friendly as ever. But overall the place seems to be on a downhill slide. My emails to the manager trying to book a room were only sporadically answered and when we called reservations to check they could find no record of them. The front desk staff sometimes display a poor attitude in dealing with guests (a friend who has also stayed at the Wishing Tree several times told me she will never return after an unpleasant encounter with the reception staff). The rooms are showing signs of wear and tear. One of the air conditioners in our villa was so noisy we couldn't use it. The bathroom door kept sticking and was difficult to close fully. The bath towels are old and no longer soft. The razors are poor quality and provide a painful shave. All minor issues that would not bother us at a local business hotel but not really acceptable at a high end resort like the Wishing Tree aspires to be. We will probably continue to return to the Wishing Tree because it is still the nicest place to stay near Khon Kaen but we are sorry that it is slipping in this way. We hope the management will wake up and put things right.

  Hidden Gem

  I know some customers might complain about transportation to the place, but that's the reason why I call this hotel a "hidden gem." I have been to the place several times and have got to stay in all types of rooms, from deluxe to pool villa. Awesome experience! Warm, welcoming staff & good food. Excellent service & beautiful hotel! I had a bike trip around the area once, and it was so memorable. My friend and I went for a 10 km bike trip, across the villages, natural lakes, rice fields and vegetable gardens. You can enjoy pampering yourself at the hotel or go out to learn more about the area and the people and live the adventure!

  Really nice quiet hotel

  This hotel is quiet, and some kilometers away from the center of Khon Kaen. Basically you need a car to go there. There is one good road from the road around Khon Kaen. The rest of the roads are average to bad. Also the site from booking dot com point you to the wrong place. My hint: drive to (or Ban Don Bom) south-south-east of KK city, cross the river there and go to the right along the river. The room we had was really beautiful, The food in the restaurant, is good, the only really point of improvement i see are the language skills of the staff. Their English is just not good enough. When i came into the reception i could see the staff panic because... well... language... I still give the place a 5 star review. It is beautiful, quiet, clean and what I expected it to be.

  little bit far away but good for relaxing and nature

  just in the nature means just be Aware about some surprise. Need an good car to get there. bathroom is open, means no door to close when you would like to have a Little bit your time on an Special place. (bungalow); just take care when you throw some cups on the Ground, you have to pay them. otherwise an good place outside of everything.

  Outstanding restaurant and customer service

  A quiet and pleasant location along the river. The swimming pool is a decent size and the rooms good too. The key standouts are the superb customer service and the restaurant which, in my two week tour, was the best visited.
