    Useless

Popped into this pub on Monday lunchtime. Queued for about seven minutes from outside pub. Woman in front of me complaining she had ordered food twice but not arrived and now she was leaving and had a refund. I ordered a white wine spritzer. That took a couple of minutes. Then ordered a beer. Sorry sir, we dont have any beer. I asked why they didnt put a sign up to save people queueing. Shrugged her shoulders. I should have walked away but my wife was out in the beer garden with the dog so I ordered a cider. The wine was warm. Nothing worse than warm white wine. I emailed the pub later to complain. This was the reply from the snotty nosed landlord. Obviously taking his frustrations of the business out on his costumers is the new way forward. Visit at your peril: Thank you for your email. You may have noticed that we are currently in the middle of a global pandemic. Our service and procedures is much slower than usual and we are suffering from gaps in the supply chain. We ran out of beer today after an extremely busy weekend and on occasion we do run out of various drinks - we have yet to add telepathy to our repertoire. One of our local pubs came to the rescue so were actually only out for an hour and a half. We have found that most of our customers deal with the fact that we now have to queue and also that there can be longer waits on food and drink due to our teams efforts trying to social distance whilst working and keeping our customers as safe as possible. Unfortunately not everyone is as patient as we would all like. If you are not prepared to wait then may I suggest that you don't come out on a bank holiday when the eat out to help out scheme is on. You are stressed !!! - how do you think our team feel putting themselves at risk every day to make sure you get your warm pint of horses piss. I do apologise for your stressful visit and can assure you it is not intentional but if you feel that strongly about us behaving so poorly then you are absolutely right not to come back. Also for information, not that it is any of your business - the lady complaining about her food not arriving had not actually ordered any until her son did. This is probably why it didn't arrive. A dog friendly gem!

Dropped by on a windy and wet lunchtime. The COVID rules are sensible and easily covered, landlord friendly and menu interesting. The pub itself is a little more contemporary than the usual Dorset rural pub, however it very comfortable. Wife had a cauliflower and paprika soup, clearly not from a packet and declared delicious . Very dog friendly.

If you don't stay here for a night you are missing out!

The location was perfect, extensive views of Dorset, large car park and nearby footpaths for walks. We were travelling down to Cornwall so used the Inn as a half way stop, which worked out perfectly. The room was spotless, nice and warm, modern and very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a big walk in shower. The rooms are separate from the Inn, so very peaceful and quiet. The Inn was once again very tastefully decorated with real attention to detail, mixing some modern with all the original features of an old Inn. The staff had really taken all the new restrictions for Covid 19 seriously and it felt very safe and clean. we had an evening meal which was delicious and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was extra (9.95 each) and worth every penny, we had pastries, coffee, tea and toast with a full English which included fresh mushrooms and black pudding, a perfect start to our journey down to Cornwall.

The staff and owners all went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay, the food was amazing and the rooms were lovely and clean, beds were super comfy! We couldn't fault the place at all and can't wait to visit again! Thank you for making our weekend a memorable one!
