  Good Stay

  Stayed two nights at the Winning Post in a newly renovated King room. Huge room, very clean and bathroom modern and large. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is within an easy walk to Mudgee CBD. We had breakfast included which was buffet style with good choices (although dished up by a server due to Covid-19). Also had dinner in the dining room one night which was excellent, hubby said the best steak he has eaten in ages, I had the pork belly which was also very good. Its great having a restaurant within the hotel for when you just want to sit and relax after a long day without having to venture too far from your room. We did a half day wine tour with Mudgee VIP Wine Tours recommended to us by the hotel - excellent tour with pick up and drop off from the hotel. If you cant find a King Room on-line, phone the hotel directly, they had some available when we called and our booking was completed over the phone. Highly recommend The Winning Post and would definitely stay here again if ever in Mudgee which is a lovely town.

  Overall quite good

  Stayed three nights. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Quiet room and beds comfortable. Clean rooms although a little hit and miss with restocking the room, ie no soap on the first night, no biscuits second night and limited long life milk in the fridge but Im sure they would have helped out if we approached the front desk. Good location. Would recommend

  Comfortable motel close to centre

  Comfortable motel with minimal extras. One small cake of soap, shampoo and conditioner only. A bottle of water was $5.40 from the bar and Mudgee water is not especially nice, so the alternative was poor. Very comfortable bed and plenty of space in the room. Just felt $200 for a basic room was a bit much.

  Good motel and restaurant

  We stayed here. The room was good and comfortable and quiet. Convenient location We ate breakfast here, set menu and price, served cafeteria style. Plenty of food but basic options. We also dined here. Nice food.

  We visited Mudgee last week got a timely getaway. We decided to stay at this old favourite where we havent stayed for many years. This motel is very central and close to all of the towns amenities including a handy Aldi right next door, very handy for drinks and snacks. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Although a bit on the dated side the furnishings and appointments are very adequate. The staff here are very cheerful and helpful. We opted for the buffet breakfast inclusion. I must say this was quite lovely. The food and variety of offerings was excellent, plentiful, varied and tasty. I would not hesitate to recommend this motel to anyone looking for a tidy, comfortable and friendly place to call home whilst holidaying in this magnificent town.
