  City Centre Hotel

  Winecity Hotel is situated at a main junction on the highway. This means that the rooms at the front of the hotel are very noisy as the traffic starts and stops. Unfortunately the Air-Con in the room wasn't very efficient which means that it is quite hot and stuffy. We seemed to be the only people staying in the hotel at the time. Breakfast which was quite simple but adequate was taken in a room which could seat hundreds of people on very long tables, The service was very good but the room itself was quite intimidating. The guy on reception spoke good English and recommended a restaurant in the city which was only 5 mins away. Although the website pictures show people enjoying a buffet at the hotel, there was no possibility of an evening meal. Bedroom was small but adequate....little balcony but no chairs.! Hotel is ok for a couple of nights if you want to explore the local history. I am not sure that I would describe it as a boutique hotel.

  Best available in Demre

  Had to stay two nights in Demre while filming the St. Nicholas Church so this was best hotel option. Hotel is fairly new but basic in furnishings. Breakfast was worst I've ever had in a Turkish hotel with few items. I even had to ask for yoghurt, a standard at every Turkish breakfast. The owner has a new restaurant at the beach called the Likya. One evening we ate there and the levrek, grilled on coals (izgara) was some of the best I've ever eaten in Turkey.

  Clean rooms,no view, average breakfast

  We checked the other 2-3 hotels in the city center of Demre, but this one was the best one. But still it looked nice from outside but the quality was not high when I consider the price. Rooms were nice but not well isolated so the room was a bit cold. The breakfast was average nothing special, nothing bad or good. Staff was nice and helpful.

  To avoid

  Dirty bathroom + hole in the wall with visible rusty water pipes, dead insects on the room walls, non-functional air conditioner, very bad breakfast... If you have to stay in Demre, choose another hotel.

  Bad place to stay

  Our experince in this hotel was bad. Reception does not speak English. Inside the rooms dirty, dusty, the towels was dirty, the bed was not comfortable. While we came in the room we did not want to stay.
