3 people sleeping in one bed ?... not on my family vacation! What would you think if you, your partner and your 11 year old daughter checked into your B & B room and found just ONE king bed? ... and when you went to the front desk to complain you were told "Well, 3 people can sleep in a king bed, can't they?" ... followed by "That's what happens when you book thru EXPEDIA - You should have called us directly!" (we booked 2 adults and 1 - 11 yr old child thru Expedia) ... and you paid over $250 for all this... what would you think ? But wait... there's more. How would you feel when the desk clerk hands you a single $10 voucher, good at several local restaurants, as the "free breakfast for 3" part of your BED & BREKFAST experience? Breakfast for 3 on a $10 voucher... How would you feel ? Now granted, the initially dismissive gals at the front desk did finally have a come-to-Jesus moment and did find us a charmless 1 bedroom unit (with 2 beds thank you!) above a local real estate office nearby, and they did end up giving us 2 more vouchers (... after they noticed my face getting red and the veins on my neck starting to bulge and visibly throb...lol) but there was NO OFFER to adjust our $250+ bill when we checked out the next morning ... and the fact is there was NO REASON FOR ANY OF THIS TO HAVE HAPPENED ! If only Gordon Ramsey, cable TV fixer of screwed up restaurants, could go try to help this place!

Excellent Stay, above-and-beyond customer service. We stayed in the McCully House Inn for an anniversary celebration. Welcoming, polite, capable staff, a welcome gift to help us celebrate, clean and spacious room, with elegant decor and historic charm. I had already made up my mind to stay there next time were in Jacksonville, and then was even further impressed with the way they handled a silly mistake on my part. We enjoyed the wine package, and especially delighted in the wine tasting right in the historic building. Jacksonville is a charming town. McCully House has adequate, close-in parking, privacy and a quaint and welcoming feel. A great stay overall!!

Beautiful house on the main drag.We booked this property for one night in September. The lobby/reception was closed and we had to check in at a sister property up the road a piece. This was fine and the people were very friendly there. Unfortunately since on site service was not available there was also no continental breakfast (as advertised) in the lounge or the beautiful outdoor garden. We were given a coupon for breakfast at several establishments which were very close, but it did not cover the cost of breakfast for two at any of these outlets. While they claimed that they were under renovation, a quick reconnoiter did not show any preparations or actual reno under way. This looked like a cost saving measure for post labor day which I found disappointing. On the other hand the location was beautiful, no question. Our suite, on the front of the house , was very well appointed. Directions for the faux fireplace were not very clear but we figured it out. I was disappointed that the pocket doors between the living area and bedroom were off track and could not be closed. This meant that the front window shades had to be closed if anyone was preparing for bed. Unfortunately the front drapes were not cut appropriately to allow the HVAC unit to operate when they were in place. I found these issues stupid and fixable. It did detract from an otherwise beautiful and comfortable stay at McCully house. I hope they will address these fixable issues because the room was otherwise very comfortable, the grounds are beautiful, and the location is ideal for walking the town.

Easily would come backThe MuCully House is an amazing property. We were in the Library suite and it was not only beautiful but super comfy and private. Soaker bath was great. The location couldn't be better for walking around Jacksonville. The management was so welcoming and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice stay.
