  Fall surprise

  I had the pleasure of durprising my partner with a stay here last weekend and it was incredible from start to finish right from the front desk to the room and to breakfast wich is incl .. our server Charlotte was awesome and the food was fantastic (chefe here) Highly Recommend Devon

  Absolutely wonderful

  Im just confused by all the negative reviews. I was worried that we made a mistake in booking this hotel and was so relieved once we arrived! We stayed 3 nights and were so satisfied with the hotel as a whole. The grounds were lovely, our room was spotless, big and bright, the spa was lovely, food was delicious and the staff was friendly. It was beautiful to be here in the Fall and I could only imagine how much better it would be in the summer with all the facilities in use.

  Anniversary trip in the Fall

  My husband and I stayed here one night. The location is quite isolated. Usually, we dont like to stay in such isolated places in case the food is bad in the hotel and we want another option nearby. Luckily the food at the main restaurant is quite good. That said, due to Covid, the Pub wasnt open. Our garden view room actually had 2 big windows (unlike another review I read), and was super clean. It is still more updated than other Victorian style hotels we have stayed in- it is atleast very neutral coloured. Bathroom was very updated. Everything was super clean. A bit weird that we needed to call the bellboy to operate the elevator if we needed it. We avoided that and just used the stairs. Maybe the best thing for us anyway :) Id say that the hotel class is more like a 4 than 3.5z We would stay there again, and maybe even bring the kids next time. Maybe :)

  Fall getaway

  It was our first time to Windermere. I love the 150 year old history of Windermere House Resort & the beautiful building & location. They are doing a good job with the COVID restrictions during this difficult time. We stayed one night this week & had a lovely large quiet garden view room on the third floor. The bathroom lacks a exhaust fan, but you can open the window for fresh air as needed. The king size bed was very comfy with a variety of pillows. Our room even had a small fridge. Our breakfast was included with our Expedia booked package & it was delicious! The servers & staff were friendly. Only suggestion: have a staff member meet guests in the lobby daily to give a tour & share history of the resort & area.

  A pleasant, relaxing, traditional place, beautifully situated

  We stayed at Windermere for 4 nights last month and had a very good time. We did not experience any of the negative issues mentioned in some other reviews. Our room was large, very clean, updated, quiet, with a beautiful view and comfortable bedding. (the porch cushions could use an update next summer). Meals were excellent, served by gracious, helpful staff, and we heard not one single "you guys"! Portions were not stingy, items were fresh and tasty, all in all, very happy with the dining. Good coffee, generous and first quality fruit juice, good desserts. Excellent prime rib, superb French toast. Avoid the pizza; the home fries are standard frozen, not great...hope they can improve them. The inn is doing great work with Covid safety; all the protocols are clearly in place, there are sanitizing stations everywhere...that actually work!!, all the staff wear masks...with one exception, the bartender: mask goes over the nose!! The grounds are immaculate, pleasant to walk around, and the area of course beautiful. One suggestion: the decor of the inn is very very austere. Some seasonal decorations, flowers, etc, would make the inn more warm and cozy and attractive to the soul. All in all, a very good stay in a clean and pleasant place (not rundown) with good food and caring staff.
