  Lake Eyre

  Amazing trip and the camp ground was adequate for such a remote location. Plenty of shaded areas. Showers and toilets clean and water hot. Hotel across the road serves great food and the beer IS cold.

  Great camping spot

  A fantastic camping spot! We stayed one night and enjoyed the food from the hotel across the road! Would recommend fly nets here as the flies were bothering us. The amenities are average and the camp kitchen is not very functional. Other than that the spot is great and atmosphere is also nice :)

  Basic campground - but your only option!

  A very basic campground in the literal middle of nowhere. The amenities are clean and OK, although the dust and bore water has stained everything. The site was comfortable enough (we were in a tent), but the all night generator in the middle of the grounds was very disturbing! The pub is fantastic, though - great food and nice cold beer.

  An Oasis in a Very Harsh Land

  We stayed in our camper at William Creek campground as we were going for a fly over Lake Eyre the following morning. You have to remember that you are in the desert and a long way from anywhere. We had a nice powered site with a bit shade from a nearby tree. The amenities were clean and we really liked the individual bathroom with shower, toilet and hand basin in the one room. The laundry was great and I used the machines to do a couple of loads. You only need to hang your washing out for 20 minutes and it is dry, amazing. We had a nice night in the campground and packed up after our wonderful flight.

  Very Welcoming

  We were made feel very welcome at the William Creek Hotel, being some of the early tourists since the restrictions were lifted. The owner Trevor Wright was very friendly and recommended the flight and walk about in the Painted Hills. It was a fantastic experience. The meals at the hotel were great and reasonably priced. Showers and toilets at park were clean. Oodnadatta Track was in very good condition. Get out there South Aussies.
