  Zero Compassion for Guests

  My family does an annual Christmas shopping trip. This year we stayed at Wildwood Lodge. We thought the hotel was nice and didn't have a problem with it. Unfortunately, overnight, our car was broke into and our shopping bags were stolen. There were no outdoor cameras to help assist in recovery which I understand is fairly common. My biggest complaint though was that there was ZERO follow up from the hotel. Even after I sent an email and my mom wrote a letter expressing our disappointed, there wasn't even as much as a "I'm sorry this happened to you." Not the way I'd want to run a business.

  Friendly staff, clean hotel

  Family friendly with large lobby, hot breakfast, large pool and hot tub. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Clean rooms and great location. Poolside rooms available and a fire pit outside with chairs.

  Pretty good choice for a night

  This place is a little better than some (e.g,. Mo6) and a little worse than some. Good breakfast choices. Fairly quiet, although there were not many travelers when we were there. Commenting on a single-bed king downstairs in the pets-allowed wing, the room was fairly spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. The lodge theme was apparent but not overwhelming. Decorations are screwed into the walls, and some were hung at an angle so that the room looks askew without meaning to. We were surprised to find no grab bars in the shower stall and a water-guzzling 3.2gallon/flush toilet. I believe the property has designated accessible rooms, which is good because the path from the bed to the door was partially blocked by an overstuffed chair.

  Great value for the amenities

  We booked Wildwood on our family trip to Des Moines. It was under $100 per night and included a decent breakfast, pool/hot tub, fire pit, etc. The staff was helpful and the room was clean. Great deal!

  WOW JUST WOW WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

  All I can smell is dog urine next to the bed! Went to talk to Kate at the front desk her attitude was just as unpleasant as the smell! I told her about the problem and she said maintenance was not in and she couldn't do anything about it. Didn't offer another room or anything. ALL SHE HAD TO SAY WAS "what do you want ferbreeze." Then she hands me ferbreeze!!!! SMH worst place I ever stayed in!!! I'm here for 3 nights because of work! REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS. BTW THE FERBREEZE DIDNT WORK! WHO DOES THAT????!!! Consider somewhere else!
