  Great Owners and fab food

  Whilst the building and rooms could do with a level of renovation, the hotel is run by a fantastic couple and the food in the restaurant was outstanding. The bedroom, whilst dated, was very clean and large. I would stay here again for the hospitality and value.

  Good basic accomodation

  This pub with rooms above is in a great central location and has plenty of charm. Parking is around the back and it's an odd quirk that you can't check in until 1730 when the pub opens. However the accomodation is comfy, quiet (considering it's above a pub) and spacious. The room's are basic, but with the bare essentials in both the bedroom and bathroom. One of the best features is the welcoming and helpful nature of the hosts. The whole place could do with some modernisation, but it's clean, allows a good sleep and the continental breakfast supplied as part of the cost is adequate. You can pay for a cooked breakfast and considering the cost of a room it's hardly an expensive addition to a pleasant enough place.

  A true West Country treasure

  Having driven four and a half hours from east Kent, we were very much looking forward to our stop off on the way to Cornwall. What a lovely surprise this beautiful place was! The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, as well as patrons and fellow guests. The food was one of the best pub meals that we have ever had - and the whole stay was excellent value. A must stay for anybody in the area - we will definitely be back!

  Friendly staff, lovely food at great prices.

  The White Hart is a great place to eat. The menu is always interesting, the Sunday roasts are very generous in quantity and one can get a one-meat roast for £9.95 and three-meat roast for just £11.95. The wines are high quality and inexpensive. In general we prefer to dine in the bar rather than the dining room. The staff are all very friendly and chatty. Isabelle and Peter are really excellent hosts.

  Dad's 86th Birthday Party

  Really a lovely evening spent with staff really cheerfully taking care of us.The atmosphere was warm and uplifting . The food was superb and the wine perfect .Thank you so much for in difficult times everything felt so comforting Take care and see you in December
