  Great stay!

  I guess I don't need to mention the "WOW" any further as soon as you step inside. It truly feels like you're sitting just on top of Macquarie Harbour. But beyond just the views, the house (we had the one with just the one bedroom for 3 nights) is an excellent place to stay in Strahan - walking distance to everywhere - and we found it in a very good and clean condition. Yes, it's not brand new and other people have stayed before, so that's normal wear. Can't really follow other reports here that it needs urgent maintenance, nor did we feel unsafe on the stairs. With the open construction of a single steel pole and wooden steps, some noise is absolutely expected. And Andrea is a great host as well. even if we didn't meet in person. Previous guests obviously had thought the hairdryer would be a great souvenir of Strahan. When we checked with her, Andrea literally organized a replacement in less than 2min after our call. Service can't be much faster.

  incredible views, lovely place to stay

  Incredible view of the harbour, 2 minutes drive to esplanade and shop. Very comfortable beds, warm in middle of winter, very well equipped, quiet location. 2nd bedroom is compact but fits a large bed, main bedroom is amazing, enormous with fabulous views.

  Nice place to stay

  Wonderful views from this self-contained, well-equipped little apartment. The shower upstairs wasn't working but there was a shower downstairs so it wasn't a problem. Very close to everything you need. Clean and tidy ..... and snuggly! I think a little bit pricey but worth it for the views.

  We spent 3 nights at Wheelhouse Apartments. Wonder experience. Walking distance to all Strahan attractions. Expensive but easily worth every penny!! A magical experience. PS. Bring the champagne!!! You'll need it!!

  Wheelhouse Stay

  Firstly, the view as you walk in to the apartment is stunning. Ceiling to floor glass with a WOW factor! Unfortunately, other aspects of the apartment didn't meet up to the initial reaction. It was great there was a washing machine, albeit a very budget washing machine oddly positioned (sideways). It often rains in Strahan and there was no dryer! There is a coffee machine in the apartment (with no instructions) and no coffee supplied for the machine. It was good that there was oil, pepper (cardboard container) and salt. The most difficult aspect of the stay was that we couldn't enjoy any breeze or leave any windows or doors open at all. The supersized flies were prolific! In this position the owner would be advised to install fly screens, including a screen door & a clothes dryer. The yard was unloved with no outdoor furniture at all. the 2 basic chairs on the back deck were not adequate given the price point of this apartment. A small investment in some additional furniture would go a long way to improving this apartment. A small table & chairs at the front of the apartment to enjoy the view would greatly assist. The dining table was behind a wall with no view at all and I doubt whether most people would use this at all. Also, retractable blinds are needed as the sun streams in the front of the apartment making it impossible to view any television which is fixed in place. The apartment was expensively priced for Strahan but sadly lacked many items to make our stay enjoyable. Disappointing for the price. Would not recommend to stay here if you are intending to stay any longer than 1 night.
