    Incredible hospitality

We arrived after a long day cycling and the owners showed phenomenal hospitality to us during our stay. A great choice purely down to that - it makes such a difference. Location was perfect for us, and while it needs some money spent to freshen it up, it suited us just fine that night.

Not what i expected, very unfriendly, sarcastic host .

This accommodation appealed because of the stunning views.. which are incredible. The location is lovely.. the room in the hotel was ok , clean, a twin but the beds are not the most comfortable. Room layout is strange. We were supplied with a breakfast basket the following morning which was very pleasant. The actual road leading up to the site ( which has glamping pods & a hotel) is absolutely terrible!! Full of deep pot holes. It was like slalom driving to get there in one piece was a worry to both us and the vehicles.. on arriving we went to book in and a lady behind the bar said she would be a few minutes.. a chap sat at a laptop got up to ask if he could pass by me to go behind the bar and he would serve me .. my friend had to make a mad dash to the loo as the rough road had shook her up ..the chap was the owner.. I told him we had booked a room so he tutted and came back out to collect his laptop.. i said stay that side if it helps but he insisted he go back behind the bar.. with a very distinctive air of sarcasm which continued throughout the evening. He was very abrupt when asking about food orders ..in all honesty his customer service skills were terrible. His attitude alone was enough to prevent any further visit or recommendations. We have moved around Cornwall & Devon for the past week and everyone else has been so clued upon the covid guidelines & even under these unusual circumstances everyone has been so accommodating, friendly & welcoming . Here was certainly the exception..The road conditions are definitely unacceptable . Certainly would not recommend.

Needs some updating but see past that and if just Great.Mark and Maxine were super hosts working under pressure wit cover and lack of staff. Will look to come again :@)

    Dreadful!!

Stayed here 14th Sept with my husband and dog as it looked like a really ideally situated place for some nice walks on the moors. Turned up and initial 1st impression was utter disapointment! The only thing this place has going for it was the view and food! Everything about it was run down and shabby and I dont mean chic!! Our room stunk like someone had previously died in it!! Spiders, dust the sink was falling away from the wall, the taps didnt work, there was a massive hole in the bathroom floor which they tried to cover up! The glasses which they served our drinks in were all dirty and covered in someone elses lipstick!! This place is NOT COVID SAFE!! Very outdated and unloved! Would deffo not stay there again!! Well overpriced!!
