Good food, whale watching good hotels camping a few miles awayIf you want good sea food all the resturants are very good and we have eaten in all of them. Whale watching is great they come into the bay and it is worth that look I have also stayed in several of the hotels and really enjoyed them all but my favorite is Arch Rock Inn you can see the whales from your room they have binoculars in the room as well as a comp bottle of sherry and a good free breakfast in the morning Camping for me is at Wapitit R.V. Park between Depot Bay and Lincoln City . You will not be disapointed.

Great information! We stopped in Depoe Bay because the view is terrific and there's lots of stores to poke around in. On the waterside is the Whale center. They give a short tslk about the grey whales and its very informative! Its free so you just listen and ask any question you have. We did see a couple of whales on our ride downng the coast!

Trip spoiled by rude desk clerkWe've stayed here many times before and it has always been great, but this time our whole trip was spoiled because we were treated so rudely by the girl at the check in desk. Too bad because the units were nice, and the view was great.

Whales all day long & wonderful accommodationsWe got a last minute deal for 4 nights at Whale Pointe in Depoe Bay. 3BR/3BA. Right in the ground floor. Condo: A+. 2 master king bedrooms with attached bathrooms and a 3rd bedroom that we chose to be 2 twins but they could have made it a king if needed. Plenty of room for 2 or even 3 couples. - kitchen was a full kitchen with full-sized appliances, plenty(!!!!) of cups (a personal pet peeve for me when its the middle of summer and you get a whoppping 4 plastic cups). Plenty of cookware and utensils all in excellent shape. There was even a blender and mixer. - bathrooms were well appointed with shower heads that were attached to hoses so you could rinse off easily. Extra towels below the sink. Decent-sized soaps for body and face in every bathroom plus extra toilet payer and Kleenex. - stacking washer/dryer in a closet - dining table with seating for 6 plus 2 folding chairs in another closet. - closet/pantry for any food storage. Condo #405 is on the 1st floor and it opens out onto the grassy area facing the ocean. Low vegetation on the cliff ensured excellent views from the patio for round-the-clock whale watching. - patio was covered (patio above us for 2ndfloor guests), had a large bbq and a patio set of 4 chairs & a table. It was great having built/in shade on the patio until about 2:30. - facilities: 3 swimming pools to choose from, one of which overlooked the cliff/ocean. Plenty of patio chairs and chaises for sunning or watching the kids. Tennis courts. Game room with pool tables, etc. coffee and hot train guest reception for those of us too lazy to make coffee. Whales! Whales! Whales! Did I mention , Whales? We had 2 whales feeding right off the coast maybe 20 to 50 yards away every single day all day long. We were going to go on a whale-watching boat but decided we had better seats just looking at them from the comfort of our patio. Definitely bring your binoculars; youll feel like you could touch them theyre so close. Even though some of the condos in this facility are owned by world mark, an international time share company, our condo is owned privately and we booked it privately online. We checked in using the guest services which is managed by world mark but the staff was completely. Ive and not pushy at all. If youve been to Mexico, you have experienced the highly unpleasant, rude, obnoxious , and pushy behavior of timeshare staff. They were the polar opposite of that experience. One of the staff mentioned that they did have information available about their timeshare but were gentle and not pushy at all. All we said was thanhs, good to know, but we werent interested at this time and theyve never said a word since. Still super welcoming every time we stop in for coffee. Walkable/strolling in 15? Minutes to actual center of Depoe Bay where the shops are and several restaurants. I promise, we will be back. A massively relaxing and enjoyable visit.

Great Location but I hate to be nickle and dimedThis is a wonderful place to visit, right next to the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The units have been well maintained and everything worked well. The first thing we realized after checking in is there is a charge for wifi, not real bad but to get access you need to register and put in your information and credit card to pay the $25 for the week. Then we got a call from the front desk that since we had booked the room through Interval International we would need to pay the room tax, another $45. Now, neither of these is a great amount of money and had we known we would still have booked this vacation. But it is the impression of being nickle and dimed while on vacation that just rubs me the wrong way. So if you are not a Worldmark member and you stay at Whale Pointe expect to be hit with fees.
