  Nothing wow about this place

  I had selected an AC Deluxe room. My room number was 25. Which is rater located in a corner. Absolutely bad location. All throughout the night there was a dog barking outside. The linens were not clean and so was the bathroom. The water too was not hot in the shower. We just sucked it up and stayed. The beds are not comfortable as well. I returned from my trip with a severe backache. The buffet spread is okay as well. Nothing to die for. All vegetables tasted the same. The hotel ambience is great though. Surrounded by a lot of trees, hammocks, children's play area, open air gym, they have it all. If you don't stay in the room, you'll enjoy your stay. But the moment you enter the room, you'll feel discomfort.

  Great Stay

  Nice property, lots to do for kids, helpful staff, good service, good food. Away from main road, so it was peaceful. Recommended! Has a nice clean pool, indoor and outdoor games, disco and not far from the railway station.

  Nice rustic holiday place

  Once again Westend hotel gave us a lovely holiday. We went on the valentine day weekend and it was full occupancy yet the staff were very obliging and courteous. We had booked a super deluxe room & had some initial trouble with the air condition but Mr. Shailendra immediately changed our room. Mr. Shailendra, the manager is very affable & accommodating. The hotel had entertainment programs in the nights which kept the kids enthralled. Food was also very good with lot of items.

  Visit to Matheran

  Best place to stay in Matheran. All staff members are so much cooperative, specially Ganesh kadam Sir, alwaz there for guests. We are as family members for them. Food is very tasty. Prefer to stay always.

  Great service & surprisingly good food!

  After some research and reading other reviews we decided to pick westend hotel for our 3 night stay at Matheran. Me & my wife were very impressed with the Covid protocols in place, everything was touch free including check-in & check-out process. The staff was very prompt to any requests throughout our stay, rooms were cleaned daily, water bottles were replaced. We had not read much about the food at the hotel, and honestly we weren't expecting much. We had planned to eat at different eateries and restaurants throughout matheran. But having to walk few kilometers for every meal became tiring eventually so we decided to give the food at Westend hotel a try, and we were surprised at the quality. So by the end of our trip we had more meals at the hotel itself than outside. They don't serve specialised local or ethnic cuisine, but whatever they serve is done well and with care. I am giving 4 stars because there is room for improvement. The rooms are a bit small and feel claustrophobic. For the per night I paid, i'd expect the rooms to be bigger and at least feel bigger. On the last night we were there it rained heavily, it looked like the kitchen was overwhelmed with orders because everyone at the hotel were trapped in their own rooms and wanted room service. But that is no excuse to serve inedible food, if the food cannot be eaten it shouldn't leave the kitchen. Our Dal Khichdi and fried chicken both were not edible and we wasted most of it. Having said all of this I will certainly recommend westend hotel, I enjoyed my stay there and would recommend others to also give it a try.
