  Wonderful Dinner

  Really enjoyed this place. Meal was excellent and staff suggestions were on point. Lots of precautiins for staff and customers and management policy for staff welfare is excellent. Staff were happy to be working there and food was local and good. Would happily return.

  Booked a table for an evening meal with my family, the dining area had service tables due to Covid where the staff left our food/drinks, however as this was shared with the next table we were within a metre of the people dining next to us and were sharing this area. The staff were supposed to use this for our meals, however our plates were bought to our table by hand and without the use of their covid safety measures. The service was terrible, we had to ask for cutlery after we had been served two of our three main dishes ( one was delayed) our meals were getting cold whilst we waited for said cutlery, we also had to ask for condiments. One of our main dishes was not as advertised on the menu and when we spoke to our waitress about this and the poor service she said sorry and scuttled off as quickly as she could. Clearly no customer service training. Our dirty plates were left on our table and we had to go searching for our bill. To top it off both my husband and I woke with painful stomachs leading me to think maybe the standards of hygiene were beyond acceptable. A very poor experience

  Short stay.....

  We stayed in their Mill apartments. The staff, apartment, and restaurant staff were brilliant, we have had a fab time. . We can't recommend a place more.They are due to go into lockdown tonight....they have not dropped their standards or the ball...well done Team Welly

  Cannot fault it!

  Visited for dinner service and was absolutely perfect. Staff were lovely and friendly, with nice quiet background music. The menu was excellent, catering both Vegan Food and Gluten Free as well as a varied selection on the main menu. The portions were very big and full of flavours! Will definitely be back - thank you

  Amazing food, compliments to the chef!

  We love food. We like to find and cook unusual fresh ingredients, we like to find and explore new flavours. We enjoy dining out and comparing the experiences. We had one of the best meals we have ever had at The Wellington Hotel, Boscastle, Cornwall last night. The menu looked pretty standard for a seaside restaurant with some pub favourites but when the food came... For starters he had Pan-fried scallops with charred, curried cauliflower and lime curd. The scallops was cooked perfectly, soft like butter and the dressing was a revelation. Remarkable and beautifully presented. He is quite a critic when it comes to scallops having grown up on an area known for seafood and in particular scallops... he could not find fault. I had: Goats cheese with Beetroot, walnuts and crisps. Reading the menu this didnt sound like much but when the dish arrived... it had subtleties and complexities with beautiful combinations of flavours and colours. For mains I had the West Country mussels steamed with white wine, shallots, garlic, parsley, house bread and hand cut chips. WOW! I have eaten allot of mussels in white wine before but this was something else. It was delicate and light, fresh and clean. The mussels were the main attraction, not drowned by heavy cream, garlic and butter but enhanced with the slight acidity of the wine and kept fresh with fresh parsley. The bread, soft, squishy, delicious and perfectly cooked delicate chips with skin on. He had Crab linguine, goats cheese, garlic, chilli, lemon. Again - a plate of fresh, clean, delicious flavours. The linguine in of itself was perfectly cooked with nice big pieces of crab, sugar snap peas, subtle flavour of goats cheese enhanced with freshness of lemon and a hint of chilli. Every forkful was a flavour sensation. (We had crab linguine at another restaurant the day before and this was on a completely different level). The service was fast, professional, courteous. The whole dining experience was a delight and the sad thing was that we only discovered this dining delight the day before 2nd lockdown of 2020 otherwise we would be eating there for most of our holiday in Cornwall.
