  Stay at Wayside while on a course

  Absolutely lovely place to stay with very welcoming hosts (Emiko and Dan) who made me feel very much at home. The place is spotlessly clean, charming and set in a beautiful part of coastal Lake District. The room was lovely with great views and a fabulous bath plus shower. The food was nothing short of exceptional! Dans knowledge of the local walks and awareness of distances was a literal lifesaver. Thank you

  A beautiful anniversary break

  We have just returned from a 4 day wedding anniversary break staying in this beautiful B&B which stands at the foot of a mountain. The sunsets over the sea are fabulous,from the nearby beach on a clear day you can see the Isle of Man and Scotland. Emi and her staff couldn't do enough for us. Her breakfasts and evening meals are all cooked fresh all locally sourced products and tasted amazing. We stayed in the Ennerdale room was lovely,which has tea/coffee making facilities,biscuits,fresh water everyday. We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary during our stay,Emi put flowers in our room which was a lovely touch. The B&B is covid safe with hand sanitizer in the bedroom,restaurant and reception. We would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about visiting The Lake District. Emi is a fantastic host with an amazing knowledge of the lakes and of places to visit.   Weekend break

  What can I say, Absolutely stunning hotel,Our hosts Emiko and Dan made us feel so welcome from the minute we arrived, if you want peace and tranquillity this is the place to be, stunning views on your doorstep,My advice is to book a evening meal was delicious, Freshly made breakfast, and if you like whiskey youve got a massive choice. The rooms are very comfortable with tea/ coffee/ bottled water and biscuits refreshed every day. I would definitely book again. Emiko and Dan thank you so much

  Wonderful hotel... stunning location!

  We spent four days in the fabulous Buttermere room. Everything about our trip was perfect... Emi is the perfect host (and chef... I wish she was my own personal chef!). The hotel is full of character, beautiful and spotlessly clean - we felt extremely safe during our stay. My review would not be complete without mentioning wonderful Doreen! Thank you for looking after us and making us laugh. We miss you!! We will definitely be back! PS Please can I email you to ask for some of your recipes?!

  A comfy haven in Cumbria

  My friend and I stayed in the twin room at The Wayside & Whisky Barn for a mini-break over the October half-term and loved our stay. The decor was a lovely rustic chic, the beds so soft and comfy, and our room had the cutest en-suite bathroom! The staff were so friendly and accommodating even when my friend and I turned up after midnight after suffering car issues. Would definitely recommend as a base to explore the Lake District.
