  Quick overnight stop to Philadelphia

  We were looking for a nice place to lay over one night driving out to Philadelphia and found this hotel on Google. The property was clean and nice but as one would expect historically dated. The staff was very nice. Our room was comfortable, reasonably priced, and we got a good night's rest. The elevator is an interesting experience and breakfast just OK. We had dinner in the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the food and service. A nice stopover but would not recommend for a longer stay.

  Charming!

  It was a charming hotel with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Breakfast (included) was great with good selection and the breakfast eating area was a sunroom that viewed the street and the yard. The hotel's front desk closes at 10pm and we arrived after that. The front door happened to be unlocked and when no one appeared at the front desk, we called the hotel number, someone answered and appeared shortly thereafter. The checkin then was very quick.

  DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

  We checked in to stay 3 nights for the races at maple grove raceway.When we walked down the hall ways the floors slant in all directions.When we got in aer room it looked fine untill we went in the bath room.there was some much dirt on the bath room fan that there was no way for it to work.The vent for heat or air was covered in what looked like black mold.The first nigt there I splilled some food in my bed,when we left for the day and came back ,all they did was to throw the shhets back up over our pillows,NOT change the sheets.We left the second day and came back and the same sheets were still there ...If we didnt pay in advance I would have checked out alot sooner.This place will never see me or the other thirty people that come down to the races every year with us!!!

  Great place to stay

  Stayed at this hotel over the weekend and it was a wonderful experience. The room was very clean and comfortable. A little dated but to be expected for the age of the building and hotel. Housekeeping also did a really good job, If you stay there you have to eat at the restaurant, probably the best meals we had in a long time, One of the owners, Paul, made us one of their fire baked pizzas and it was sooooo good. The bar in the bottom level was also enjoyable. Bartender, wish i remembered her name, was very good at her job, friendly and attentive, Highly recommend this Hotel/Restaurant. Would stay there again

  Tired

  Stayed overnight because of convenience to business. I was aware this was an old inn so slanted floors were not a problem, HOWEVER the Inn should not even be allowing guests to use the elevator which was slow at best, erratic and scary. On the descents it would stop ( maybe at the designated floor or not) and shiver for several minutes while I wondered whether the door would open or not. The room was clean but carpets stained and common areas looked like they had not been cleaned well in a long time.
